New guy here in Plano/GT500

Hello all, my name is Jeremy and I have just recently moved back to the Dallas area from Austin where I have been since 2008. I had a 2010 Roush 427R that I tracked as well as a Ducati and BMW that saw track time as well. Since moving back I have decided to drop the bike thing and focus solely on cars, mostly because of the safety factor. I debated long and hard between 5 different cars and ended up with a 2012 Shelby GT500 last week. I have already ordered a full suspension package from Eibach and BMR as well as cat back exhaust. I am not sure if I plan to make the car a straight line machine or spend a lot of time on the track with it. I do know that I am enjoying the hell out of it on my daily commute at the moment though.

I look forward to meeting fellow Mustang owners and car enthusiasts from the board, as well as attending meet ups, car shows, charity events, drag nights, and track days.

Track time...I can't get enough... Welcome to the forum. You will definitely fit in with the crew here. The great thing about this group is that they range from track junkies (license plates that say "Trak rat") to car lovers that have never seen a minute of track time. It's a great group of people and I look forward to meeting you and seeing the GT500 at a Sat morning meet or on the track.

You'll want to upgrade the tires too.
The stock rubber is marginal at best.

The suspension goes on next Wednesday so I will be sure to give you an update on the difference late next week.

The rubber is definitely on the upgrade list, but I think I will burn the stockers down first. I am also unsure whether or not I should keep the stock wheels or go aftermarket so that I can go wider in hopes of more traction.

Best rubber for the stock wheels?
