I'm going to fabricate some pieces of aluminum to move my laser jammer heads closer to the back of my grille and am in need of a metal break in order to make a precise 90 degree bend in the metal. I was wondering if any of the local members had access to one.
Thanks,
Mike

I have a 4' brake and an assortment of radius bars at our hangar at Love Field.
You are more than welcome to use it.

Jetmech, when are you going to arrange a private trip to Cuba for us to pickup some Cigars?

Mike how thick is your aluminum plate?

I think it is 1/8" thick.

1/8th will be cake on a sheet metal break. if it's not a wide bend then you can accomplish it in a vise with relative ease; just can't bend it back too much if you go past 90 degrees since aluminum tears so easily.

I'll take advantage of the offer to use the break and get a nice 90 degree bend. Since having the laser jammer heads level is key to getting the best performance from them I'd rather do it right. :thumbsup2:

Big thanks to Jetmech!!! I stopped by today and we fabbed up the brackets for my laser jammer mod. Painted them flat black tonight and will install tomorrow. The poor Po Pos don't stand a chance now!:hahaha:

Sounds nice! Post up some pics. when you have time.
Speaking of Po Pos they have been hanging out a lot lately on the Bush @ Beltline. I've seen them lurking around the northbound lanes nearly everyday since Friday of last week.

They have been out in force lately. I've seen way more the past week than normal.
Once the install is done I'll post up pics.:thumbsup2:

I will speculate part of the reason the cops are out in force is to generate revenue. With the economy in the tank this a way to make up for declines in other revenue sources.

This is the primary reason. Police departments are being viewed as revenue sources in the current economy. Based on interviews I have heard it really has the police chiefs pissed off as they can't do thier real work.

I got hit by AMGLAZER on the tollway for the first time yesterday, normally they are just using KA. I see Laser more often from the state guys on 35 every week, they must finally be rolling new guns out to them. Fairly soon I think without a jammer, my detector will just be used to know that I'm about to get a ticket.
Mike, I know of a few ladies that would be willing to work on your pipe :hahaha:

Finished reinstalling the jammer heads this afternoon. They now sit directly behind the grille and should have a much wider field of view for both reception and transmit.
Pics of the finished install...

I did not know the Troopers had laser, thanks for posting. I guess I will have to pony up for a jammer soon.
