Just got my Kenwood KIV700 installed in Sharkbait yesterday. Cleaned up the sound quality much nicer as compared to the VW factory touchscreen. Heavy on the bottom end for now but in planning stages of upgrading the front stage in the very near future. Once all the pieces of the puzzle are in, the wiring will be cleaned up. Enjoy the progress made so far...

Nice stuff, I like playing with audio electronics. It’s makes me fell like I could do smart people stuff. Where is your V1 integrated mirror display?

Thx! No sir No IMD for my V1. Both my wife and I have our V1s just mounted up by the suction cups and using the coiled power wire. Been offered to have it hard wired but I've always preferred the coiled way. Since back in 1990 or so I've always loved car audio. Back then it was more about having the biggest subs (had 15"s done 18" Fosgates) and the cool thing was flexing the body panels and flipping quarters on the roof. Now the Boom is appreciated but more into SQ for audio goals. Care to post a pic of two of the gadgets in your toy?

No audio investment in my stuff anymore. Most of the factory systems exceed my expectations but I remember when Vega's were the shiznit. I had a couple of 15" in an old Gran Prix and 10" Bazooka's in an MR2... Phoenix Gold Amps and lots of gold plated connectors. I had a friend with 12 8" Vega's in a Prelude... we had to retighten the lug nuts on that car about once a week. I'm surprised I can still hear anything in the lower audio range.

You heard the stereo in the Boss? Ouch. Yeah, yeah, yeah, listen to the exhaust, but if your driving 4 hours to a track event, well, you know. Maybe I'm just not enough of a purist :)
