well my firm opinion here is that the new Boss 302 and stangs look good, but they are nothing but left over bits from the GT500. Ford has officially killed the 13 Boss 302 with new 13 GT options. You can now get every single Boss 302 option this side of the forged internals, springs, and dampers on the 13 GT. Frack you Ford for selling us "limited edition" cars and then offering 95% of the parts to anyone with a base GT.

the GT and V6 models can have leather recaros, torsen diff, and a track pack. no word on MSRP yet. i am so glad i sold that 0001 car already!

Not sure how I feel about the GT500 front end on all the current offering mustangs. The Boss looks good though!

I absolutely LOVE LOVE the GT500 headlights/grille design. Don't care much for the fog light black out panels though. That is one of my favorite styling elements of the GT500, and the only reason I would have bought one over a normal Mustang (if I was in the market). Glad I don't have to drop $50,000 for it now.

This bodes well for those of us considering getting a dedicated track car in a few years.

Ford Press Release
A larger, more-efficient supercharger flowing more air through the engine is key to helping produce the massive 650 horsepower. The new TVS series 2300 creates 2.3 liters of displacement and is a unique design to the 5.8-liter engine.

The entire cooling system has been significantly updated on the new 5.8-liter engine. It now includes a larger cooling fan, fan shroud with high-speed pressure-relief doors, a more efficient charge air cooler, a higher-flow intercooler pump and an intercooler heat exchanger with volume increased 36 percent.

Wow, even though I knew all of this info months ago (unconfirmed) it still stings more now seeing it officially released. This is going to destroy the 2011/2012 GT500 market value majorly. I feel bad for the Boss and LS owners who thought that they were buying a rare/low production car that can now be had, by most practical purposes, for far less and your average Joe could never tell the difference.

I love that Ford has truly stepped up their game and flexed their arms here and across their entire product line for that matter, but their blatent disregard for market value on previous models has led to a weak secondary market and lack of respect for the higher end models. I definitely regret my decision to sell the car this week far less now.

As of today I officially no longer own my GT500. I am going to move to a dedicated track toy to keep hobby separate of my DD and reliable transportation. In return I picked a 2011 Ford Raptor and I couldn't be happier.

Hey man, have you ever been to Dallas Mustang? They sell all the HiPo parts, they install, they have a dyno, and they tune. They are in NE Dallas. I've used them and they specialize in Mustangs only.

As far as a Ford Dealer, I have used Park Cities Ford for ages. They do have great techs that know what they are doing.

HPP ain't the only ford guys in town.. What about Clint and Fischer? I would use them both.. I think both of them have put out some proven Cobras.. We all know they're no Centri Corvette or anything.. but still pretty quick! :D

The numbers are definitely impressive, but it still weighs ~3,900 lbs. I love how they forget to mention that little tid bit of info when they smash it against the ZR1 which weighs ~600 lbs less. Power to weight is all that matters.

I think everyone is talking about the new ZL1 Camaro not the ZR1 Corvette (but I could have missed something somewhere). At any rate, I think its an awesome car, glad to see Ford build it. An, off-the-shelf Mustang with 650 ponies... Corvette will have to up their game considerably. You can cry about weight differences all you want but HP sells cars.

I was referring to the article I read where Ford called out the ZR1 in comparison, so I am not referring to what "everyone" is. The ZR1 will still outperform the Mustang, at the track and in a straight line. So I don't see how Chevy needs to "up their game". With that mentality everyone should just go buy tractor trailers.

I'm not talking about sales volume, I'm talking about overall performance. So I can "cry" as much as I want about power to weight.

odd...I've never seen or heard of the GT500 being compared to a ZR1. The rivalry has always been Mustang versus Camaro and with that said, whose not happy that chevy has "Upped" their game with the new '12 ZL1?

I guess if it makes you feel better you can compare a pony car to the ZR1 but most know by now that the only Ford capable of competing with such a vehicle was and is the Ford GT.

It might, just might, have something to do with the need to bring up a a top of the line $110k+ Corvette to beat a $60k Mustang.

No knots here, just clarifying my previous post.

I read an article where Ford was boasting about having the horspower advantage over the ZR1. Not really apples to apples when the weight delta is so significant.
