Hey Guys, finally after 3.5years owning my beastly Indy red M5, I got a moving citation. The V1 imediately lit up as I was passing another car, hit the brakes but too late. 68 in a 35...heading on to the tollway from downtown. Can't take defensive driving as its over 25mph past limit. suggestions?

Deferred Ajudication. Just don't get another ticket in the same municipality during your probation period and you're golden. I also have a feeling the cop did you a favor by writing 68 instead of the "real" which would have been 70+ and more than double the posted which carries much more severe penalties.

Was thinking of doing that. It's been 7-years since a ticket as I was stationed in Germany for 4-years before I returned. So not so familair anymore with the procedures. Do I need a traffic attorney or can I just go to the courthouse and request that? HUD showed about 68 as I hit the brakes, so was assuming I was slower but yikes!! Thanks for the heads up! Warren

I wouldn't use Steve unless the ticket is in Dallas.
