EDIT
Going to sell my 2004 CTS-V
black/black, sunroof with 90k, always parked in garage (day & nite)
nothing done to internals of LS6 motor, most money in suspension
it needs nothing..I live in the Dallas area
Here's a list of the upgrades Ive done in past 5years:
true coilovers by LG Motorsports,
LS7 clutch
UUC motor mounts
new red calipers,
new front rotors,
front brake ducts by LG Motorsports
W4M ECM (have stock ECM in a box)
Hosk. sway bars
new front wheel hubs
rear diff bushing
ADM performance trailing arms
P&P throttle body
B&M shifter
K&N CAI
Extra set of V rims with Pirelli race slicks with a TON of track time left
I figure about $11k in upgrades
I turned a 2:09 @ ECR months ago, I know 2:07 is doable
I would prefer to keep the car, but I only have a 2 car garage with wives car has one spot.
Asking $18k

What takes up the other spot..?
sorry for delayed response,
I'm researching a couple of cars now:
2012 Mustang Boss or 2010 Corvette Grand Sport or 2008 Z06
Letting go of the V will be hard to do...

Good luck with the sale. I had a 'mostly stock' 2009 V. I think I turned 1:29 out at MSR with it. I can't remember it's been so long but it was a great sport sedan. To bad it did not hold value as well as it preformed. I would be driving the coupe if the trade in was worth a ****.
I think I'd go with the Grand Sport if you like to mod cars. That is a fantastic starting platform and relative cheap to crank up.

Best of luck selling.
If you want to stay American I think you'll enjoy the Grand Sport (especially since you like tracking)....just wait until you see your lap times in that, without mods.

I'd go for the Boss. Back seats, just as cheap (or cheaper to mod than the gran sport), and not everyone and their brother has one.

But everyone and their brother has a Mustang :hmmmm2:
I like the GT500/Boss Mustangs a lot, but just can't find myself willing to plop down that much $$ when there is a version that for 90% of the public, looks the same, for 1/2 the price :(

My wife, and 99% of the general public, can't tell the difference between a Boss LS or GT500 and V6 Mustangs that fill every high school parking lot. And that's not even a bash on the new V6 Mustangs (old ones, yes)...they're even a quite impressive bang for the buck.
Anyway, Corvette's are quite rare when compared to Mustangs, both taken as an entire lineup.

I guess the same could be said for a Gran Sport, it looks like a Corvette and cost much more than a Boss 302. They are making 3250 Boss 302's for 2012 (and 750 Laguna Seca's) and about the same for 2013. I don't know, I don't buy cars to please the general public (yet I own a matte finish car...irony alert :D ) and I guess the people that matter will know the difference i.e. guys like you! :)
Most people don't know the difference between a 911 Turbo and a Carrera S, a C63 AMG and a C 350, an M3 and a 335, on and on...
A base GT cost 29.7k a base Boss 302 cost 40.3k, so I don't know about half the price. A base vette is 49.5 and a base gran sport is 55.9. For the price difference you could do this and get a matching warranty: http://www.hennesseyperformance.com/hpe650-boss-302.html yowza!

Interesting the comments here. I got the ZR1 specifically because it looked like a regular Vette to 95% of the public. I like to fly under the radar with a relatively big performance stick under the plastic/CF body. I'm not a fan of constant attention while driving around.

To try to help with the price question, a while back, I discovered vast.com (http://www.vast.com/cars/used-for-sale-Cadillac.CTS/trim-V/year-2004.2004). See linky for browsing 2004 CTS-V's. It's a bit of an aggregator and looks at ebay, Craigs, and others, and while it's not totally accurate 100% of the time, it does provide a rough idea of the trend-line for the asking price when you click the "Graph These Results" button. See screenshot below. When I sold my last car, I made a similar trend line manually just by trolling the usual sites. Vast can do that for you; it won't tell you exactly where to price it, especially since you have a lengthy mod-list, but it gets you in the ballpark. Best part, though, the graphed results update as you make changes to your search/filter criteria. You can then hover your cursor over the little dots on the graph and click to see the classified listing's details. GLWS.

I would look at the 09 Z06 if you can swing it. Higher volume oil pump and larger res tank.

Yes, and all that further drives my point. Now you know why I went with a Viper. No one assumes it's a base model with an auto ;)
Oh, and it was my dream car since 1989. Could care less if it pleased someone else, it always made me smile :D

Pumps were the same, oil tank had a baby resivoir tank added to stop the oil starvation on R compounds, ABS logic/ABS control system was changed from Delphi to bosch, and thats about it.

I thought that also until the guys at 21st told me the pump was different in 09. They could be wrong.
