SCCA Road Rally in N. TX - June 20

Presenting . . . "The Rally Without a Name!"

The Texas Region SCCA is holding their third rally in the SCCA Regional Championship RoadRally Series on Saturday morning, June 20. Open to SCCA and non-SCCA members -- any type vehicle acceptable. Starting point is Texas Roadhouse in McKinney and awards will be given afterwards at the restaurant during a late lunch.

The route covers approx. 90 miles through Collin, Denton and Grayson counties. It's not a TSD rally (time, speed, distance), but you will need a navigator or passenger to help guide you during the rally. If DFW Auto Club wants to enter a 3-car team, there is a special Rally Team trophy. These may be club, marque or sponsored teams.

Cost is $20 for SCCA members; $30 for non-members. No additional fee for a 3-car team. Online registration is available. Details are in the PDF flyer (http://www.texasscca.org/RWN09flyer1.pdf).

There's one key sentence in the PDF flyer that I think says how you win -- you have stay on course and be able to answer questions based on observations along the route. Hmmm. Perhaps a video camera would come in handy here!

Just FYI to anyone considering going to this rally. I met a guy on Sunday at the Cooper show who is a long-time SCCA member. He said that if they use the same route for this rally that they did in the past, that there are some gravel roads. So driver, beware! I'm just sayin' ;)
