Escort is now offering a more economical version of their custom installed radar/laser system - the 8500ci. If you like the idea of having a custom integrated radar/laser system but don't want to splurge for the 9500ci the 8500ci is a great alternative. Unlike the 9500ci the 8500ci has the controls and display integrated into a single module - which means the controls will need to be mounted somewhere on the mirror casing, probably on the back where it's out of sight. I've already modified the system and it will definitely work - I just need to get this integrated into an actual mirror for advertising, etc.
The 8500ci with Integrated Mirror Display is going to retail for $1049. This does not include installing the system on your car but there's not much to it. If someone wants to volunteer their car I'll offer the 8500ci with integrated mirror display/controls for $700. Please send me a PM if you want to volunteer.
