Picked up a 2005 Gallardo

Several people saw it tonight, but wanted to share that I picked up a new car. Flew out Friday morning at 6:15am to Atlanta, Georgia to do the transaction and drove the car home around 800 miles reaching home around 2:30am that night. It's an abolutely beautiful car in pristine condition, 6100 miles (before driving it home), 6 speed manual, 2005 model year. It's a pearl orange color, and all black interior with orange deviated stitching, and an alcantara/perforated alcantara steering wheel with orange stitching. Also has a RSC Titanium exhaust with clear bra on front bumper, half hood/fenders, and side mirrors. Previous owner put ~1600 miles on it over the last one year, and I put half that in one day! Could not stress enough, how clean the interior is, as I've been looking for almost the last year for a car in great condition, and this blows all of them out of the water. So pleased with how well the car was treated, and the paint is amazing!

Also wanted to thank Taylor at Dallas Performance, and Robert (DGFDTT) for all the help, and listening to all my rants, as this was more stressful that I ever thought. You guys have been just a huge blessing for me in all of this!

I will be removing the little bull in the back grill, as I don't like that, and hopefully get some different wheels later on, as I'm not a huge fan of the stockers. The gated shifter is very cool, and definitely takes concentration to shift correctly/fast. The car is fun to drive, and though not currently as fast as my old Viper, it is enjoyable in many other ways

Actually, I was going to ask about your camera setup/system. Do you have any links/info on it, that you may have posted somewhere? I'm currently driving with a GoPro, but that seems a little crude to use all the time.

My setup is really pretty basic. A CruiseCam headrest shortbar camera mount and a Panasonic 1080 video camera, 16gig SDHC with an extended battery. That's good for roughly 4 hours of continuous video. Each evening I pull the camera out and recharge the battery. This means out of pocket cost is 50.00 for the mount and then how much ever a person wants to invest in a camera. I picked up a secondary Samsung 1080 video camera for 160.00 at Frys. Cheaper than my insurance deductible whichever way I go.

Cruisecam as well as a couple of other companies offer in vehicle DVRs that write to solid state memory or flash. The DVR is wired into the cars 12v and turns on and off with the ignition. Some can have 4+ camera inputs so you could wire 4 cameras (front, rear, and both sides) to record all around full time.

I'm thinking about applying the Leatherique kit to the entire interior, but afraid it would change the new car smell, or stain it in some way. I'm lucky that almost all of his customers are people I consider friends, and it's fun to experiment on video/photos of cars that people love to look at. I think me and Taylor are more than even. No, I've been driving it for the past 3 weeks and have put close to 1900 miles on it so far :driver: Taylor will be doing some work on it next week, and I'll hopefully get my wheels in and get it lowered/aligned/corner balanced. After that, I'm just gonna drive it and enjoy it. I have no baller TT budget, and more importantly, couldn't afford to fix it if I TT'd and blew something up. I haven't had much luck with highly modified cars/bikes in the past :banghead:
