View Full Version : I woke up this morning and F1 was dead.

This is a bit old news, but I hadn't seen a thread here about it.

On Thursday, eight of F1's major teams, including Renault, said they intended to establish a rival championship.

What are your thoughts about whats happening with F1, and the break away?
History has shown that when one series breaks it normally ends badly for one of the groups (CART/Indy).

I'm skeptical at this point. To me, this is still just typical F1 drama that all manages to work itself out in the end. Dividing the fans is not the solution. My personal belief is that the teams should be allowed to spend as much money as they want. Hell, Ferrari spends massive amounts of cash to be the best, but they're former chief engineer is whipping their ass on lunch money.

I would really hate to see F1 split. If it really does happen, motorsport will never be the same again. What we know Formula 1 to be today won't be very exciting with Force India as being the powerhouse team. Oh F1 drama :rolleyes:

Max Mosley is OUT!!! He resigned today. :beer: I believe that's a big step in the right direction. I'm sick of the F1 drama.

How many of you guys are big F1 fans? There's a pretty good watching G2G I've been going to at the Londoner in Addison on Sundays.

I generally watch every qualifying and race via my PVR or if I stay up to watch it on speed. I just got into it like 2 years ago, so I guess I don't qualify as a nut yet.

Love F1. The finest racing machines on the planet. Glad Mosley is out. Hope some good changes are seen in the future.

F1 fan for 20+ years! Splitting F1 will have the same crushing effect that the CART / Indy Car series split had. I'm all for a F1 GTG:thumbsup2:

I can't either. I just hope the US team enters a true F1 with the FOTA teams included.
