Michael Schumacher as the Stig. Last night's Top Gear was awesome if you haven't yet watched it. http://www.mininova.org/tor/2705428

I don't buy it...The consensus is they are throwing everyone off.

What do they have to gain by lying?

He's not the real Stig, but that was his personal FXX.

Didn't he wad up a car recently? He and his son were out somewhere and had to walk away form the car.

Agreed it is his car..if you watch the episode till the very end even Clarkson starts yammering about he didn't think that was the real stig.

Didn't walk like the stig or carry himself like the stig. Now the one thing that gave it away for me is the way his suit fit. If you watch the show's you can never tell if the stig is black/white/brown whatever because his suit fits nice and tight up under his helmet. With Shummy you could tell right away that the person was white because you could see his skin...again its a ratings stunt.

On another note that FXX just crushed the top of the board!!!! 1.10 to the 1.17 it had to beat...CRAP!

The FXX looked low. I am assuming it passed the curb test, or they would have thrown its time out like they have done in the past.

It was for ratings. The Beeb saw their ratings jump in the time leading up to the "unveiling". As another poster said, Clarkson eluded to him not being the Stig at the end. Besides, they have a lot more to gain from lying about it than just telling everybody. As for the FXX, I believe Shumacher is the only person with a black FXX, so that wasn't too surprising. Very good episode all in all. Hope the rest of the season is as good!

I think the test that they use is if it can be legal on the street...I do believe the FXX can.

I seem to remember they said that if it could not clear a standard curb, it was DQ'd from the board.

I remember seeing an older episode where they DQ'd a car they tested after it had beat almost everything that they've run around the track up to that point due to it being to low to clear a curb.

They have DQ'd a car before because of the curb clearance and the FXX isn't street legal. But when Michael Schumacher wants to being one of the greatest, and most exclusive, supercars ever made to your test track and run some hot laps, exceptions can be made. ;) Sure, the FXX could be made street legal, but what's the fun in that. At any rate, it was great entertainment, and it definitely got my attention...as if I was going to stop watching Top Gear anyway.

I have no problem with them running the FXX around the track, but if they're going to create some BS rules, then the rules should apply to all the cars they run.

I'd personally like to see any and every car that runs the track get put up on the board just to see how everything compares. I'd like to see an F1 run the track just to see how much faster real race cars are compared to what we drive.

I'm willing to bet that F1 car time wouldn't be drastically better than the FXX. That FXX was calm the whole time, no drama. But then again, Schumacher was driving. Maybe when Jenson Button wins the whole show, they'll have him as a guest and run the BGP 001. THAT would be nice! :thumbsup2:

Just saw the 1st half of the next episode.
They took the FXX off the board due to using racing slicks.

The 2nd half had McLaren F1 vs. Bugatti Veyron 1-mile drag with The Stig driving the F1.

How much you willin' to bet Schumy was driving the F1 car, too?

It would not surprise me. . . amazing someone let them drive their McLaren F1 to do the show since it sounds like it has gone up in value. . .

Are they not manufacturing the F1 anymore? McLaren F1 is a great supercar, no doubt, but IMO it's been overcome by a bunch of newer supercars. Veyron, Koenigsegg, et al.

They produced the McLaren F1 from 1992-1998. I still think it is one of the best looking cars ever.
