Actually, when I drove Kumars TT GT w/ 875whp it dead hooked 1st!! I was fully shocked!! May be the way the turbo comes on, but it was very surprising to be able to flat foot it in 1st and when the boost hit @ 4,100 there was no drama, just face peeling acceleration!! Grabbed second and it had a tiny bit of lag, then it was in triple digits instantly.. Very fast car..

I think he said Taylor setup boost control per gear, that is the only way to make it stick. I have heard nothing but good things about Kumar's setup. I can't wait to see it run at the mile in October.

My car will not be that civil. However, it should have mad torque at 1500 rpm. That will make it a fun street car.

Its not civilized like a turbo down low...I raced one of our guys in Austin when I first got it..he didn't have a pulley..race went like this

1st...spin side by side...second spin side by side...third...gone...other driver told me later that he though he missed a shift I shot off so fast :)

Gotcha, that's why I love methanol. If you are dependent on race gas and you don't choose to fill it with race gas it's a handicap. I got away from that in the 90's for the same reason... Tired of not having it when wanted/needed...

Is that the only change you made? I remember you saying it got hot. Like if you were lapping the car. Does that happen on the street?

I thought we might have a better technical discussion over here.

The car has only given me problems at the track on a hot day. It rarely breaks 200 on the street. I have been told by other GT owner with similar upgrades, that use of the motor's torque (3500 to 6000) is an effective way to keep temps down. Lap times are supposed to be very similar but I have not tried this technique yet.

Interesting. Didn't know it would do that. At the Texas Mile, I watch tons of guys with Shelby GT's pouring ice in them to cool em down and run faster. I never knew what they were doing, and it was comical to watch. Now I understand. I had that problem with heat on my Turbo but it was a computer issue and not what you had. I wonder if the Vette has heat issues like that (ZR1). Come drive it. I won't jack with timing anything. I could care less. Would love to see it haul.

I suspect the guy at The Texas Mile are trying to artifically cool their intercooler fluid. Typically the motor has ample time to cool down between runs. I barely get over 180 going down the mile. You have to beat on it pretty good to get over 240.

I'd love to join u guys at the track. When is the next available date?

Oh bull. You can beat 180 in the mile. Funny.
Fordham has a deal on 4/30 and also 5/8. One is at TMS, which would suit your car, and one is at MSR, which would be harder on you.

Are you on the list for the May 8th track day?

No, my schedule has been a little dicey lately so I've been weary of committing more than a week or two in advance. Assuming that tuning and brakes get done this week, I'd be game for TMS. Are there any openings?

Send a PM or email to Steve. It is with another driving company, and who I don't remember. You would be welcome to come. I have been warned to not be so brazen in the driving on the round part. I was just thinking you could hammer down. Some people are saying be careful. Never done that track at all.

I've been to TMS but not on the Roval, just the infield. It was a good time.

Ok, this is a better subject. Did you floor it, were you cautious, concerned, or what? I've had a couple people say not to go over 150, and I have no validation to any opinions. What are my worries when I do this?

I got my hand slapped by the staff for going 160 or so. The trickiest part for me was the transition from the oval back to the infield.....banked to flat. But I felt very comfortable on the oval at speed.

How funny. You can't go over 160? Guess I need to wear gloves.
I'm sure doing 160 makes is a tough transition slowing down so much before the turn for anyone.

I forget if that was at TMS or Las Vegas...they will try to limit your speed on the oval though.

That sucks. I'm good at ignoring stuff like that. How the hell would they know? Radar?

Blowing by an instructor on the oval perhaps.

Haha. Oh sh*t. Didn't think of that. I will sissy it up a few times until I get comfortable. I am guessing you get to start at about 10 mph or whatever speed when you enter the track, and you have 1.5 miles to get up to your speed and then slow down to re-enter the infield track?
