Hey Guys,
I drove 3.5hrs from east Tx to get my windows tinted at earmark....not only did they do a sucky job with a lot of dirt particles in the rear windshield and both passenger side windows, the tinting guy has made a 6 inch gash with his blade on the rear windshield.....I would never use these guys for anything hereafter....I noticed it when I got home....have to call them on Monday....man I cant imagine driving another 3.5 hrs to do this...what would you guys do?

There's a nice, comprehensive thread here discussing the best places to have your tint done: http://www.dfwautoclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=267&highlight=tint

Sorry to hear. The guy must have used the wrong blade on your rear glass. There's blades made for cutting on the surface of the glass without leaving a "gash" as you put it. They're called Olfa Stainless blades. I would give it a few days to let the film cure before making a final judgment, many times what looks like a terrible job is simply water left under the film that will evaporate. After 3 days what you see is what you get. I'd be looking for them to replace the glass that was cut.

I will let you guys know in a couple of days how the tint came out(I dont think its gna change as I can clearly see junk under the film)but I will give them the benefit of the doubt.....yeah I am curious as to what Frank has to say bout the glass being cut on.....will update:hmmmm2:

I had my trailblazer done at Earmark and they have had to do it over twice. They use laser cut film and left light gaps on various windows with trash between the film. I used them instead of going to the guy I always used in the past (but he moved to Burlesson). Needless to say when the BMW got tint, it went to Burlesson.
I will not use Earmark for tint again for any reason, but that is just me.
