Hey,
Does anyone know if and when the gumball run will be comming to/through the DFW area?
I havnt done any research, but if this is something that would be happening.. it would be a "must see" event.
Thanks

OK... I did a little research, and this is what I found out so far:
The 11th Annual Gumball 3000 Rally -
1st-8th May, 2009 -
"Coast to Coast"
Following the success of the 10th Anniversary rally from San Francisco to the Beijing Olympics, including the "ground breaking" night in deepest darkest North Korea, Gumball 3000 has decided to go back to its roots in 2009, with a classic "coast to coast" road trip, from sea to shining sea; Los Angeles to Miami.
The 3000 mile route, incorporating stops in Las Vegas, Grand Canyon, Santa Fe, Dallas, and New Orleans will embellish Gumball's core values of uniting people through popular culture and the language of the motorcar.
Showcasing 120 of the most fantastic cars ever built, including vintage, customised and luxury Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Rolls Royces, Aston Martins and Bugattis alongside America's finest muscle cars and today’s 'greenest' hybrid and electric vehicles of the future, the Gumball will create a spectacle for all to enjoy.
also.... incase you wanted to enter:
in 2009, the entry fee is reduced to $44,000 per car for two people
As it gets closer (65 days 04 hours 16 min 21 sec til "kick off"), we need to fid out the Dallas Schedule of events, and try to make an appearence.

That would make for an interesting addition to a weekly meet.

That'd be a blast. I watched a video of this from a few years back and at every stop they party it up. I definitely want to check this out.

For those of us a little short of the 44K entry fee, please post up vids so we can enjoy. :)

We could have the poor man's gumball...run next to them and party at dive bars and seedy titty bars at the end of the day. Grand prize: an oil change at Jiffy Lube.

ROFL at the jiffy lube part. I am sure some of you guys would embarrass more then a few of them on the hwy.... and I would love to see that. :D

Yah... no kidding. I'm guessing the local police dept will be aware of what is going on... and no doubt be looking to meet their "quota". hehehe... I'm sure they wont care if the driver has an outta-state plate or local plate either..... just cars going fast. BUMMER
