So I'm on my way home from dropping off the wife at the airport and make a pit stop in the Colony to get some single malt and some cognac. I leave the store and hop back onto 121, easing into the center lane behind a red Cayman S. So he decides to hop into the left lane and dumps it. I'm like OK, if you want to play, I'm down with that. I hop into the left lane to move around a car in front and quickly reel him in, moving back to the middle lane. I'm along side of him and wave bye as I floor it and start to put some serious real estate between us. I let off the gas at around 160 mph and at about that time see a SUV well ahead on the inside shoulder of the road. I'm coasting off some speed when it becomes clear it's a State trooper's SUV, so I hit the brakes hard and slow down to 70 mph. No radar or laser alerts so I just cruise by and start checking the mirror to see if he's coming out after me. He doesn't move. (Must have been taking a nap or something.) As I've slowed down considerably the Cayman catches up to me, and gives a thumbs up before hopping off at the next exit.

I know the Cayman isn't that fast, but he did start this, so I felt obligated to finish it.

Congrats on the kill!

I bet the cayman guy was thinking pick on someone your own size :D.... meet my big brother the 997TT haha.

I even would not want to go up against a Cayman on the track. I hear because of their weight and mid-engine design they are monsters on the track!

We need to log a run sometime. :thumbsup2:

My guess is he realized he bit off more than he could chew when he saw the big quad pipes as I passed him.:D No doubt he would want his big bro to help him keep the Pcar crest held high. We definitely need to run sometime.

You got lucky!

You could have been clocked at 100+, and when you hit your breaks hard, you break your new bottles of single malt and cognac. Then when the cop pulls you over (assuming you're smart enough not to run) he would smell nothing but booze on you. He would then snatch your ass out of the car (probably whack you a few times with a stick because he thinks you're way to drunk to know what's going on) while cuffing you, and rubbing your face in the pavement. The next thing you know, you are in county making new friends and trying to figure out how to find someone to take pity on you and help you make bail. Then after making bail, you'd have to find some sleaze-attorney who's going to rape you with $5k+ in legal fees to make it all “just go away” because you had to show some loser that his Cayman is just a castrated Porsche.

I am sure Mark would have given you the club discount on the bail bond. :)

Probably solitaire on his toughbook. I've seen it many times before.

I realized it was a cop in plenty of time to slow down, but if he had been clocking people I would have either had earlier warning from the V1 or the trusty LI would have saved me from his laser.:D

No doubt if things ever go south I would be calling Mark to bail my ass out:thumbsup2:

I'll let Mark provide his number to everyone. (Maybe we should put his business details in the preferred vendor section.):D

Mike, nice kill brotha.. I'm glad you didn't get pinched.

Reminds me of the time I found a Boxster S at the lights.. just down the road from a lane closure.. I rolled off pretty heavy in first, not sure if he was going to bite at it.. then just held back in second for a moment till I saw him come up hard on me.. he never got past me (even close) and he's never given me those snide glances either. (I live in a small town, full of cocky people.. I'd seen him around, even commented on his car back when I had a Z3.. he was kinda a ****.. so it was fun to romp him.)

To more important things: what distillery produced your new bottle of scotch?? my cabinet is exclusively stocked with bourbon, scotch, cognac, and brandy..

Nice kill. It is a matter of the old addage a friend of mine used to say.... "If you don't bring none... there won't be none..."

Remy Martin.. fancy stuff! The Glenmorangie oughta be a good bottle. I'm a sucker for the lowland scotches myself.. and especially the Islays. Gotta love the peat!
