When you have this installed how do you mute the V1, is that what the button on the back is there for?

The lens on the back is for the photocell, which adjusts the brightness of the display from day to night. If the mirror has homelink I can use one of the three buttons for muting, if not I just install a small button on the bottom of the mirror.

The owner of the 335i received his mirror yesterday and passed on the following -

Good news! It was just the V1 power plug that was causing the problem. Hard-wired, it works great. Love how the display dims and brightens based on the ambient light.
I can't say it enough, I am extremely impressed with the quality of your work. Worth every penny.

$499 to the outsiders, $399 to DFWAC members - includes free installation help if you're local. :)

Could this be done with a Viper?

Probably, just need to see your mirror and find a suitable location to hide the radar detector. Just let me know when you're free and I'll be happy to take a look.

How does the laser detection suppose to pickup? If the Radar is inside the Headrest? Doesn't it has to be exposed?

Yeah it doesn't work in the headrest. As others mentioned laser detection is basically ticket detection. Get a laser jammer if you want to speed through the laser guns. :)
