I think most people out here are too lazy to show up.
Especially on a saturday morning.:sleep::sleep::sleep:

DFW definitely has the potential for that as I have seen some awesome rides in the area. Not too long ago when I was out at LGMotorsports I saw an all Lamborghini meet. From Countachs to Murcialegos and some Ferraris.

When we use to run, about 7 years ago, out on 635, off of MacArthur, we got all types. porches (I am sure i murdered that one...lol), vettes, stangs, bmws, benz, dodge, and bunch of civics and integras, we were easily 100+ on a good night.
So just give it time, i have told my dad and a couple of freinds.

I think the potential is there,....think about it! If there is one thing DFW has, is people with way too much money and the need to upstage others. If you build it, they will come!!!

I just hope we keep it all high end. Don't get me wrong I respect people for what they do to their cars, but there's certain crowds which I hope we don't draw.

So you are saying the Supercharged Hyundai Accents with spinners are not allowed??? Damn!!! I was hoping to eventually bring that in as my daily driver.
In one word....AGREED:thumbsup2:

Folks,
Scott and I are meeting this week to ensure we set the direction properly for the forum. It's already moved away from the original intent of the car meet so we need to clearly define what our charter and focus is for this forum and the meet.
Stay tuned for more information. Rest assured our focus is on keeping quality and uniqueness high.
Regards,
Darren

I do believe we have the right mix of motor enthusiasts so far and I would like to see the meets stay that way as others decide to join in on the fun. I don't want to exclude anyone because they don't have a sports car since I never owned one myself until a year ago but still went to meets and enjoyed all the hooplah. I don't mind rice especially if its a skyline or something fancy but I agree with William on this that we keep the meets at or above the quality they were intended for.

no it will never get that big...if it does, it will be with a lot of rice. You will never find one place with as many rare/exotics in the states with the exception of maybe SoFla. I used to go to many of these, the ones up off of Muholland are just as crazy. If I remember correctly, it was called SuperCar Sundays. I could easily remember, 20+ lambos, 20+ ferarris. Jay leno used to come out to those. I remember meeting one of the original founders of the Vector hahaha. I have his card lying around in my pile of old business cards .

Ok well maybe not that big, but maybe have cars of that variety and clout. I know there's plenty of enthusiasts with those kind of cars that would want to bring them out.

I think it can get pretty big. I love seeing the exotics (foreign and domestics) at the meet I was at on Saturday. It is nice to see those cars in person. I had never seen a GTR, Z8, Ford GT, or a Dinan BMW of any kind up close really before that.
As long as you don't have a horsepower minimum... I can still come. LOL This car does not make it down to Mexico at warp speed like most of the rides on here do. ;) LOL

Folks,
Thank you for the feedback. Scott and I need to go back to our original charter of why we started the Saturday meets and this forum. If we do not stay true to our original focus we'll end up with too broad of a focus and not really doing any one thing well.
Stay tuned as we'll announce more details shortly. We just need to figure out a few things first.
Best Regards,
Darren

So should we quit inviting people to come at this point until you guys figure it out? I enjoy being a part of this, but would hate to take it away for its intended purpose by inviting the "wrong" people.

I wonder if the Daytona will be allowed to show up anymore?
I know it's not a BMW, but the sticker price of this ride + mods is nothing to sneeze at, it's not a matter of money that she doesn't drive a BMW, AUDI, or Porsche, It was a matter of opinion.
Met some cool people on Saturday, would suck to be excluded already, I'll make sure not to tell anymore people about the site until we see a post that sets a clear direction for your club.

I heard awhile ago that Nerces was trying to get something going like a Cars and Coffee at his new Autoscope location near Love Field.

Lambo Dallas, Ferrari both had pretty good turn out at their meet. So the cars and people are there. Just a matter of letting them know.
I had a Lambo Dallas Superleggera launch invitation. They forgot to blind copy so the whole list is there. We could put together an event and broadcast to that whole list if you want a REALLY big turnout. :D

Nice.. that's a huge (and very impressive) meet. Is that a weekly thing? DFW has tons of cars, but lots of people who make excuses rather than results.. I could see the group swelling quite a lot.. but getting the right filter on it is important.
I'll be interested to hear what Scott and Darren discuss.. I remember when these meets 1st started with just a few cars. And I was there! haha

Cars and Coffee was already pretty big, but they have been showing it a lot on HD Theater (like 2-3 times per week, some weeks). So, it is nationally known. I agree that there are more than enough car enthusiasts in the DFW area to be just as big. (maybe bigger??).
