I bet, since it is a Pimp Daddy Caddy, it will smell like hookers when it gets here from Vegas. Better check the trunk before you drive it.

The Caddy should take a stock M5. I'll be shocked if it doesn't.

Horsepower wars are making the stock M5 embarrassed lately. That CTS-V is shockingly fast. I'm going to bring my buddy with a modded CTS-V on Saturday. I think a Renntech C63 vs modified CTS-V video also needs to get done.

I don't know, the M5's top end power is formidable. I think it will be the caddy off the line and the M5 will reel it in around 130 or so.

The V is devastatingly quick!

The thing I like most about the V is it feels like a Cadillac until you press the right buttons. It soft and bouncy (just like my hair) and the transmission is very tame... then you press the SPORT button and it is like a different car. It makes my drive to work much more bearable.

You're getting another one?!?

I was about to get another one for a daily.. Untill I drove one again.. It's the 4spd trans that turns me off. I don't remember it having such huge gaps in the gears. I think I am leaning towards a G8 GT w/ the 6spd auto. I'm going to go drive one this week and see how hungry Pontiac is..

The 4 speed auto is a thing of the past, you think they would have put the new 6 speed in there.

Do you not like the GXP? I guess the GXP has an LS3 and the GT an LS2? My neighbor across the street has a white GT and its a good looking car.

The GT has the ls2 block with ls3 heads and intake.. There is a 12ci difference in displacement.. I can't justify spending 10k more on one.. Especialy when 10k in aftermarket parts and tuning would put it at 600+rwhp. I think it would be a total sleeper.. It would need to be completely debadged though.. That pontiac emblem is horrible!

GM kills performance cars

Total photo(s): 1 GM kills performance carsPerformance division shut down as attention turns to fuel efficient future
General Motors has announced the closure of its High Performance Vehicle Operation signaling the end of fast cars as we know them. It is another step in the company's road to recovery that revolves around meeting strict new fuel economy targets for mass produced vehicles.

The announcement comes only a day after the company went back to the US Government seeking US$16.6 billion in financial aid. The recovery plan it submitted to the Department of Treasury indicated that GM would focus on fuel efficient and crossover vehicles in order to cut its emissions and re-establish itself as a viable operation.

And that means no more fast cars built in low numbers, like the acclaimed Cadillac CTS-V. (heh, its acclaimed now)

"All high-performance projects are on indefinite hold," said GM spokesman, Vince Muniga. "The engineers are moving into different areas of the organization, and they will work on Cadillacs, Buicks, Chevrolets and Pontiacs."

The High Performance Vehicle Operation was responsible for producing the Cadillac V-series range as well as the Chevrolet Cobalt SS, HHR SS and V8 Colorado.

Current Holden managing director Mark Reuss was appointed the Executive Director of the division in 2001 and oversaw much of the work on the hot-rod Cadillac range including the Cadillac racing program in North America.

The news doesn't affect the production of Chevrolet's other V8-powered sportscars the Corvette and Camaro but does demonstrate just how bad things have become for the company.

GM will redeploy the current engineering team from the division into other roles within the company, leaving open the opportunity of recreating the performance operation if it can regain its financial footing.

Honestly, sense Detroit is having such problems right now, and our country is so dependent on that industry staying alive... I kinda felt like it was time o start pulling for the home team. Besides, they are making some great cars for a change.

I still love the other stuff tho. I'm not knocking anything.
