View Full Version : Pine sap removal?
Made the mistake of parking my car under a tree at the movies lol..wondering what the best way to get it off would be? Tried googling it, but I trust yalls suggestions over theirs
Thanks in advance
To remove the sap, claying usually does the trick if it's been on the paint for a while and hardened. Otherwise, some rubbing alcohol does the trick. Just make sure to polish and wax the area where there was sap.
Hope this helps.
It sure did help! Thank you
To remove pine sap from the painted surfaces and the windows of your car. Use a product called PB Blaster. This is rust loosening aerosol that can be purchased at most auto parts stores. Spray a little on a soft rag and rub. It takes a little elbow grease but it does not harm the paint.

I use Goof Off for anything and everything that won't come off of anything and everything. Used it many times on my car and has never hurt the clear coat.

Test an area first. This stuff softens the paint on my Sprinter vans. I used it to get some decals off and as I was wiping it on, I used my fingernail lightly to remove a built up area and it scratched the paint right off. I then went over it with spray detailer and let it cure again and it was back to its original state after it dried.

Yeah, don't let this stuff sit on your paint for any period of time or it may start eating into the clear. I spray a little on a towel and wipe the gunk off within seconds and that's it.
Tritek removed the tint on my E55 with a high powered steam machine, anything with adhesive will come off a lot easier with a little heat.

The claybar will usually rid your car of sap and any other contaminents that settle on the paint. I always try clay first and then use more aggressive, chemical based approaches if that doesn't work.

Hey now! While the girl in my avatar is clearly talented, I'm not sure she's going to be cleaning sap off anyone's car.
