I don't know of a bulletproof tint... Usually you need either a thick piece of Plexiglas, or multiple layers of glass, laminated together like a windshield, but with several layers. They have security film, that makes it take quite a few chops with an axe to get through a window, but it still wouldn't necessarily be bulletproof either..

Don't think you are going to find any bulletproof window film. Glass Doctor (dfwac sponsor) has bulletproof glass, I think it's pretty pricey. They do the secret service vehicles locally for President Bush's detail.

I just need something that someone won't be able to break with a brick, pipe etc. Who does the security film?

You can check with Tritek and see what they have available. Unless you replace the tempered glass it will break, regardless of whether you have film on it or not.. any film. :dontknow:

Is this for a building or a vehicle?

There really is no such thing as "bullet proof glass"....just Bullet resistant glass. If you fire enough rounds into even the thickest bullet resistant glass you will eventually get through. :thumbsup2:
However, there are some security films that people use to detour theft. The films vary in thickness but will only prevent a person from getting into a building and will not eliminate the damage to the glass behind it. I.E. The thicker the film the harder it is to get in.
We sell these films to a lot of Cell phone stores and to places in high crime areas. This way you eliminate the unattractive "Burglar Bars" that people use but still have the protection.

Don't know a local source, but if it's on the internet it must be true. Right?

To be honest with you I don't believe in bullet proof tint, but it will make it a little harder to get in the car through the side windows. You could always shoot/smash the front window since its illegal to put any kind of film on there. :dontknow:

LOL. Yeah, if it's on the internet it definitely true ;-). I don't know what bullet proof glass alone would even get you, as the door underneath is definitely not bulletproof in any way.
BTW, your front winsheild is laminated glass, which is why you couldn't break it so easily with a punch, brick or baseball bat, but the side windows are tempered glass, which are designed to shatter for good reason: to make it easy for EMS to get you out, or should your head hit the window, you want the glass to break, not your head.
If you really were worried about people taking a brick or punch, I'd say do it right and talk to Brad about replacing your side windows with acrylic or laminated glass. My guess is that's what they did on the internet videos.
or, really do it right and buy a factory armored car: Found out about this one from an old episode of top gear. BTW, these have 2-3 cm thick glass, and are armored all the way around.

If they cannot get near the glass, they cannot get through the glass... (Probably best to NOT set with an automatic motion activation switch...)
