Nothing about that seemed like the brightest idea. Looked like there was fog and no lights and twisty roads that always makes for a great combination.

Kid couldn't drive to well either. That GTR was stepping out around some of the turns. Its not supposed to do that. Traction control saved his ass a few times, but he was pushing it a bit to much.
Out of traction, out of asphault, out of ideas. Pick two.

More guts then brains it seems... and a lack of skill. That was definately a bad road to try that on. I would have just let the Evo go and save myself the hassle. Guess they wanted a story to tell on tape and now they got one.

No, that is driving it like it is supposed to be driven. The problem with this video is Nissan putting a feature on the car that it just can't handle.

Samurai Speed had actually done ~ 100 launches before the tranny broke. Prior to to the break, they had the fastest R35. They have taken the tranny apart and showed where teeth in 1st gear broke off.
The original LC on the R35 is very violent. Nissan has since put out a software update that modifies LC, so it will be covered under warranty and not break the tranny.

of course there are exceptions to the rule.. but the rule is: 20 yr olds have absolutely no business in cars like that..
