So after work today I had to run some errands. On my way back to Irving on Walnut Hill I happened to glance over at a very nice red 996 4S. As I came to the stop light I see the same car pull up next to me, and the driver rolled the window down to tell me he liked my car!! I was like WTF!? I just didn't expect such a random nice comment, so of course I obliged and told him I loved his Porsche also. In my moment of shock I completely forgot to tell the nice guy about the forum:(. Anywho on the way to Lowes in the parking lot there was a older model Supra that I parked next to. And when I went in to not find what I was looking for I came out to the car and I could hear the guy and his son behind me faintly commenting on my car. As I walked up to unlock with the key fob they started asking me about my car and I began to inquire about the Supra. Though not in great condition I do still miss the boost rush and told him how much I enjoyed that old import. He told me he gets alot of people stopping him wanting to offer money for it. I laughed as I knew what he was talking about. His son was just drooling over my nearly decade old Chevy so of course I let him poke around my car to as I remembered back when I was that age and how I promised myself that I would also have to have a Corvette. Hope he was inspired. Just an unexpected series of good encounters with random car junkies like myself. I found it very relaxing. Sometimes I get very annoyed on corvetteforums as most of the crowd there thinks their car is the holy grail of the automotive world. Which is the main reason I love this forum so much. Just a love for all the fine cars out there not just nutswinging on one. Just wanted to share my story.

Very cool! When I had my 66 Mustang and went to shows, I remember this one girl was all impressed I let her sit in it. LOL I also met a guy with a C6 not all that long ago that offered to let me sit in his show car as well to see how it felt and what not. There are a few cool people out there, and there are some that will kill you for looking at it twice.

Great story man!

Yes, great story and thanks for sharing. That's what makes this hobby so much fun.....sharing; our cars and our stories. Like you, I've found that so many people are interested in all kinds of cars, not just one marque. I get about as many people gaggling over my vintage VW bug as my restored Porsches. And the stories that people tell me about their history of Bug ownership.....amazing, from when they first got laid to cross country family trips, but all great stories of their car experiences. Of course, most are old timers like me!!
