I don't have the X6 right now, it's sitting at the dealership. I gave it to them to install the Dinan exhaust yesterday and they cut my stock exhaust off before verifying they had the right part there, which they didn't because Dinan sent the wrong one. So it's sitting there without an exhaust waiting for Dinan to ship the right one.

Poor quality control on both Dinan's part and the dealership.

I brought them the wheel only so they wouldn't ever touch my car again. I even met a tech there that got his car damaged by the car wash guys :/

I basically blew a gasket yesterday afternoon and started searching for the truth. The truth is Classic messed up not Dinan. Classic claimed Dinan sent the wrong part (half truth). Classic's parts guy ordered the exhaust for an X5 not X6, so that's what Dinan sent. Classic's tech didn't check the invoice on the parts box or they would have seen it was for an X5. They just went ahead and cut off my stock exhaust and then found the part didn't fit right. Classic said they had a replacement shipped (by freight) last Friday, and should be here the following Wednesday. (two days ago) However Dinan didn't actually reship until Monday because Classic didn't actually request it till 5:00pm in the evening our time on Friday. (my appointment was 9:00am) Also Dinan said (which they can prove) that it was Classic who ordered the wrong part or if it had been Dinan's mistake he would have paid the extra 500.00 to have the freight sent two day instead of the normal 5 days. But Classic chose the normal freight for the replacement so it may or may not be here today.

Total F*&^K up on Classic's part. Only good news is Dinan is going ahead and shipping a Dinan badge to Classic for my vehicle since I've technically purchased all they offer so far for the X6 50i (exhaust and tune).

I'm waiting to see if Classic offers up any form of compensation when this is all done other than "we're sorry" for leaving me without my vehicle for a week now.

Chances are they're not going to compensate anything for you besides giving you a loaner. Just like I called and complained to all the managers there about my damaged wheel; they still just gave me apologies. :banghead:

It took them 4 days for them to "test" (joy ride) my m3 and find a faulty o2 sensor. Not only they damage your items but they are really slow.

If I were in your shoes I would tow my car to another bmw dealer.

They apparently haven't learned. In 2002, when (after several months of waiting) my new E46 M3 came in, it had a small crease in the front bumper cap that you would have thought was a design feature if it was on both sides. Classic said they'd order a new bumper, paint it and install it. They called in a couple of weeks and said the new bumper cap was there and ready to go; so, I took the car in. Later in the day, the service adviser called and said the bumper they had was the wrong one (BMW changed the bumper material and mounting scheme between the 2001 and 2002 model years), They had apparently ordered the bumper for model year 2001, and they had destroyed the original bumper removing it. I recall that I had the 325i loaner for about 3 weeks. It was more than a little disappointing.

too bad Paris, is too far for me to just make a short trip there every Saturday morning. At one time I went to C&C almost every month but its gotten so huge its just no longer enjoyable. last time there a girl dumped a cup of coffee all over my E30 M3, after that I just stopped.

We are about to start this up here in Paris. Basically a coffee bar / byob bar depending on the time of day to watch F1, Moto GP, DTM, WRC, ALMS, FIA GT3, 24 hr of Daytona and 24 Heurs du Mans. Just a gathering of the euro cars guys here that follow these races. DEFINITELY NO NASCAR though! hahahaha

In fairness to Classic BMW, they have now compensated me for the debacle with the exhaust install. I had originally got a quote from them on the cost of painting my brake calipers and the hubs of the rotors and they quoted 385.00. They offered to do this for me as compensation for what happened and it was done this past Thursday. So they did make an attempt.
