DFW Auto Club - Standing Saturday Meets in Frisco

The DFW Auto Club meets every Saturday morning (excluding the first Saturday of the month, where we join the Cars and Coffee event at Classic BMW) beginning at 8am during daylight savings time and 9am during non-daylight savings time at The Shops at Starwood, located on the southwest corner of Lebanon Rd and the Dallas North Tollway in Frisco.

I am sure this goes without saying but for the benefit of those who may be new to the club or weekly car meets.. please remember that we are guests of The Shops at Starwood and it's a priveledge to be able hold our events on their property. Please make an effort to keep speeds and rpms in and around the property at a level that doesn't draw attention to your car.

The meet is on the northeast corner of Park/Tollway along Dallas Parkway. We're just around the corner from Starbucks, same shopping center.

That's why I am lucky to have a daily driver that I don't mind getting wet. :) But it does kind of suck standing out in the rain near our cars, especially if it's COLD and raining. We'd do better if we hung out in Starbucks while it's raining (or during freezing temps!), don't you think?

Yes, you should! I have brought my dog with me in the past to a few meets. With a puppy, it will help socialize him by exposing him to many people and lots of different experiences. And the bonus is that it might wear him out a bit and he might sleep through the night!

Well the M is still at Classic. New belts and hoses, oil, alignment, and fixing my bent wheel(woohoo for the broken road on Marsh in carrollton!) . Also having them do the vanos seals, and the diff is apparently leaking, so since its covered by the warranty, that is getting done too! funfun. They say it will be done tomorrow afternoon, so I'm guessing like Wednesday next week.

I will be there tomorrow if operation steal the cayenne goes properly.

The meets actually have been from 10am - 12pm for a while, although we are planning to move the start time up to 8am very soon to get some relief from the summer temps. If you make it by 10am I'm sure a large % of the crowd will still be around. We're also planning to relocate the meet soon so please staty tuned for updates.

A few considerations.. it'd be nice to get parking just west of a decent sized structure to keep us in 100% in the shade. Also if we can find a location with a few more amenities, i.e. restaurant for breakfast or lunch, etc. and somewhere with a little better exposure. It's really hard to see the cars from the street. The move has been planned for some time, just not going to do it until we find the perfect locale.

I don't count the cars every week but I'd say average turnout is currently 30 - 40 cars. We've had as many as 70 - 80 with good weather. Over time I'm sure the attendance will grow.

I'm pretty sure there's issues with car meets Addison, at least without special permits. That's what I've heard anyway. We can check into it. :thumbsup2:

Hola just looked into this thread Saturdays are good for me. I stay in Las Colinas but don't mind driving anywhere for a good meet/show. Hmmm guess that's why I drive a German car and not a Toyota :) If no rain this Saturday morning count me in but not sure as to the location, I know Addison was thrown around in the last few postings. Is this still in Plano or the later?

LOL! Thank you for checking! I wanted to be there yesterday, but Gerald was right. I was tied up with Oktoberfest and then Grapefest in the evening. Today is the last day of O'fest and I'll be there again this afternoon. We have to pick up our cars at 6pm when it closes.

Hah, are you kidding?! ;) No, I actually drove the green monster because my red car was still laid up (cooling system issues). But the problem was fixed yesterday afternoon and I have my daily driver back. The poor green monster is so dirty from driving around the past couple of weeks in the snow/rain - I can't wait for a little higher temps to wash it!
