Hey guys,
I wanted to find out where a good place was to get my car clay bar'd, waxed, clean, the whole 9 yards here in the North Dallas area. I've heard that place off Frankford and Preston is good but there are 3 in that area.
Thanks,
Walter

I would recommend Brian with Detail Werkz, he will come to your house and does a fantastic job for a reasonable price.

My 2 bosses asked me and my coworker to find a mobile unit that washes cars, he gets upset if we find services that aren't adequate to his standards. I don't think he and she wants to spend the money to detail, just a basic wash. Can anyone recommend a service that does basic washes that won't be over $80 or so? Thanks

I've never gone the mobile wash route. I am always a little leary of their washing methods unless they are brining a truck with a large water tank on it.

I use Aquazoom car wash at Preston and Alexis (near Beltline) in Dallas. I think they have a location in Plano too for all you northerners. They do Zaino. I go there a lot just for washes, too. There are a lot of things that set them apart from most neighborhood car washes...stuff like using compressed air with every full service wash to blow out the cracks in mirrors, trunk, etc., they use real window cleaner in the aerosol can not that crappy pink stuff that most washes use, they don't spray your carpets with fragrance, instead they use little fragrance coasters that you put in cup holders or wherever, and best of all, you are always in complete control of your car, they never drive it. I've tried just about all car washes around Dallas and I like them by far the best. Detailing isn't bad either. Go there and ask for Paul, tell him Blake with the new M3 sent you and he'll give you a good deal.

They even pay for damages done to your car when they drop a buffer on the roof of your m5 and deny it. however, i was able to talk to a manager and he took care of all the damages.

That's right. I got a free gift card now for a free wash when I bring it back. Maybe the guy was having a bad day but at least he didn't have to deny it.

That was a great detailing job. Brian took his time and did it right. :thumbsup2: I spent 14 hours doing my M5 the first time I detailed it after buying it. The key is spending the necessary time doing the paint correction. Too many places try to short cut that step and just hide the problems.

What's a detail job like this going to cost me?

The cost of a job by any good detailer is based on how many hours it will take. I would estimate a really good detail on a dark color car with moderate swirls, hazing and/or micro marring to be $300 - $500 if done right.

Add one more to the detailer list, i have been detailing for over 5 years (at a professional level...11 years if you include the days when i was using autozone supplies) and if i couldn't do one of my own cars for some reason, Brian is the only person around here i would let touch it. I have known Brian for about 7 or 8 years and he knows what he is doing.
He has plenty of pictures of his work up on his site, but if you want some full process photo shoots i know where to find them, just pm me.

Had a similar experience... had to get a hand wash with my black rims... the car looked like they washed it with wet sandpaper... took it back the next day and discussed this with the manager... he did take care of it, but it was real disappointing since I had been using them a while. I am not sure if I will go back or not with the Bimmer now. Most likely not.
I like to Zaino my car myself, but she was just too dirty to handle in the cold that day. Lesson learned though.

^^^^There are a couple "waterless car washes (http://autogeek.net/optimum-no-rinse.html)" available, you basically mix a few oz's with a couple gallons of "water" and soak a microfiber towel or a GOOD grout sponge in it, do one panel at a time quick detail style. Basically, wipe the panel off with a wet mf/sponge and then dry it off with another one. You can do this in the warmth of your garage since you aren't using a hose to rinse it off. I know several people who have been using this method and haven't induced any swirls or marring. Personally, i just bundle up and use hot water and I'm fine outside with the OG method.

I can't wait for our house to get done so I can use the OG method in my own driveway. ;)
I have no problems with a hose, buckets, sponges, micro-fiber towels, music, and beverages. :)
