Passport Qi45. Just stumbled onto this. This looks like it could be a candidate for mirror integration.

Any idea how this compares to the V1?

It's essentially an easier-to-install SR7 so performance should be comparable to that unit (so not comparable to a V1 or 9500*). No GPS means automatic deal breaker for me as I enjoy having a detector that only detects police (and tarrant county school buses).

The 9500ci looks like the best all around option for ticket prevention.
Front and rear laser and radar detection.
Front and rear laser jammer.
GPS to filter out false alarms and alert red light cameras/speed traps
Separate display for easy integration into the rear view mirror.
I didn't realize until recently this thing has laser jamming built in. This makes the cost of these a lot more attractive. Escort shows retail at $1595 but they can be purchased online elsewhere for under $1100.

IMHO the first company to come out with a modular setup (V1) with solid detection (9500*/V1)) and GPS anti-false-ing (9500*) will essentially win the detector "wars". I have to think there are some patent issues keeping this combination from coming to fruition because it sure seems like we should have seen this "frankenstein" by now...

I've had a couple of these before... They are extremely effective for jamming. They do not detect nearly as well as a V1 though.

I quoted Scotts 9500CI comment... The 9500 CI is what I was referring to. :thumbsup2:

I just picked up at 9500ix (gps, rated better than the v1, and has speed camera detection) and will be getting a blinder sometime soon as a more cost effective 9500ic. But from what I have read the 9500ic is an amazing detector/jammer.

I have a 9500ci and love it. The laser shifter can be muted, once you've slowed, to give the cops a speed on you. But, I do miss the V1 arrows - SA.

It's interesting that they call this a laser "shifter" vs "jammer". Perhaps due to some legalities. :hmmmm2:

I believe so as well... When I was big into jammers I read that they called them shifters to be allowed to legally sell them in some states.

I just got rid of the 9500ix on ebay, and I didn't care for it. Even with all the options of GPS, speed cams and no false alerts I thought it did not perform like the V1 does. My step dad on the other hand, has never had a V1 and loves both of his 9500ix's...

One of these days everyone learns Mike Valentine knows what the heck he's doing. He was one of the founders of Escort and they can't catch him now, even if they add the kitchen sink to their products !

So true. I bought enough wannabes in the past that I decided it was time for the top dog.

I have a 9500ix and haven't had a ticket yet as long as it was in the car. My only complaint is it isn't mirror friendly. I love the GPS.
I had to buy a couple of V1's to have available for testing mirror builds so I'm going to leave the 9500ix in the E55 and put one of the V1's in the M3.
