Today we had an opportunity to detail a customers bright orange Lambo SuperLeggera.
The car looked pretty clean when we started, but once we got into the detail, it was amazing the amount of embeded contamination in the paint/clearbra. My clay bar never looked this dirty before!
Anyway, I cleaned the wheels using P21s Gel Wheel Cleaner (http://www.kqzyfj.com/click-3596920-10509474?url=http://www.autogeek.net/p2wheelclean.html) and then I washed the car using the two bucket method, rinsed it with deionized water and dried it off so I could get started on it right away. Next up was the claybar process and as mentioned, there was a lot of contaminents that came off. Since the paint wasn't bad and much of the car is covered in clearbra, I chose to use Menzerna Super Finish Polish (http://www.kqzyfj.com/click-3596920-10509474?url=http://www.autogeek.net/menzerna-nano-polish-po-106-fa-finishing-polish.html) on a white CCS pad. This combo worked great and really amped up the gloss. Once polished out, I used P21s Concours Carnauba Wax (http://www.kqzyfj.com/click-3596920-10509474?url=http://www.autogeek.net/p2concarwax.html) on it to add some depth to the brilliant Orange paint. The tires were dressed with Pinnacle Black Onyx Tire Gel (http://www.kqzyfj.com/click-3596920-10509474?url=http://www.autogeek.net/piblontigel.html). The glass was cleaned with Poor Boys streak free glass cleaner and a Waffle Weave Glass Towel (http://www.kqzyfj.com/click-3596920-10509474?url=http://www.autogeek.net/ww1627.html).
Next up was the interior which is pretty much either carbon fiber or alcantara. The alcantara was cleaned using a horsehair upolstery bush and vacuum while the CF parts were cleaned using microfiber towels and Einzett Cockpit Premuim (http://www.kqzyfj.com/click-3596920-10509474?url=http://www.autogeek.net/1z-einzett-cockpit-premium.html).
The car looked stunning when complete. Some after pics are attached.
