I am getting my rear wheels replaced and am going a little wider in the rear. The only problem is that ball-seat lug bolts I have and also received are too long. Does anyone know of a good machine shop that I could go to have them shorten the bolt so it will not interfere with the e-brake in the rear? Thanks in advance.

just and fyi though mark, i would probably just buy new bolts, machine works not cheap, even for something simple as this. new set of bolts would be like $30, i dont think a machine shop will charge you less. maybe shave them down with an angle grinder?

Got a friend, used the grinder and made sure the threads were in tact and bam! it worked. Everything is bueno now, thanks for the point R.

I have the opposite problem. I just somehow lost a lug in the rear where my spacers are, and now I have to order a new one online since no one in town seems to have extended bolts. I may just take this opportunity to do a stud conversion.

Stud conversion would be nice, but I'm sure Peter at Wheel Experts can supply lug bolts at the desired length.

Either that or since he has a BMW you can call Vorshlag and they have many different length stud conversion kits for bmws. I did one on my bmw.

haha i wish id known, i have several different length bolts laying around, extended 5/10/15/20mm
i myself have thought about going with studs, but i would want 20mm extended lugs, bug when i dont have spacers on, it might look really weird...
