Not very good. Car kept breaking up....bad coil pack I think. My best was a 10.3...coasting thru the traps.

SW went a 246.2mph on his first pass off the trailer today. :thumbsup2:

Mr. Big was supposed to be there to, right?

SW threw a rod and may or may not have cracked 250.

Edit: They didn't crack 250. Hell of an accomplishment with 246 though.

Yeah, I saw his run... lots of smoke and oil all over the track and the car was clocked at 246... insane.

Old Blue pulled off a 190.637 run, then again for 190.3 That's the number I wanted to see so I may skip tomorrow.

Yep you would have enjoyed it. There was a Bugatti 110, a Carrera GT and a few other great cars. The bikes were wicked too. I saw a turbo bike run 240s. It was a well executed event.

how fast does your Viper run the mile, Hollywood?

Officially I've only done 205mph. Last October I clocked 211mph (per driftbox) with about 1000' left, before I blew threw my clutch. I have no doubt my car is good for 225mph without the need for a parachute to stop.

Fubar

Given your last 1/4 mile run I would not question that your car belongs in the 220+ club. Maybe I'll get to see it in october.

we're still in Dallas trying to work out some major last minute bugs on Robert's car... the trailer is waiting, but no answers yet... this really REALLY sux... I hate it for him, and me for that matter... over 1k in flights just to get back home from working in Nashville then out to Albany NY for work Monday, just for this race, not including entry fees and such... But it really would all be worth it if his car would start and run correctly today... Don't count us/me out just yet, but it's not looking good...

Was that red mustang a diesel?

Mr. Hollywood
03-28-2009, 11:05 PM
Were they really letting that Mustang run on Mickey Thompson tires? :dontknow:

Fubar
03-28-2009, 11:15 PM
Yes on the MTs. I don't think it was a diesel. I didn't talk to that guy so I can't say for sure.

I came back early this morning but I was told that today was the day to be there... cooler temps and a good tail wind. Most people were running 5-6 mph faster than yesterday. I know the turbo GT ran 117 yesterday and 223 today. I herd a few other stories like that.

... excuse the video quality it was done with a still-shot camera

If that was a diesel mustang then that's the owner of nitrous express' car. He dives it to events and gets like 35 mpg. They are out of Wichita Falls where I used to live. That diesel just doesn't sound right in that mustang.

Well, we got home last night. Friday around 3pm we were just going to run the car down and get things set up. Had boost set at 16lbs. car launched good, had the speedo pegged at 200mph at 3/4 mile and passenger tire let go!!. Car started shaking and thank the lord I got it slowed down and stopped. Rolled through the mile at 160mph tryin' to bring the thing to a safe stop!

When we got the car to the trailer and tore into the problem we discovered it wasn't the tire, but the wheel had came apart!!! :dontknow: If it was just the tire we could have gone to Victoria and Discount had 2 Michelins in my size. Needless to say we didn't have any more wheels with us so we loaded back on the trailer, and watched everyone else. We decided to come back home yesterday.:(

That sucks. FYI...200mph on your speedo is not 200mph. Better luck next time.

I know this. The gears that I have now will get me 190-195mph in 5th.

C5 Corvette has a speedometer error of around 10mph.

7.4 sec. I have gotten it down in the 5s but for this run there are 1 maybe 2 shifts in there.

I'll work on getting it officially recorded.
