Is there a law or anything in Texas against tinting tail lights or having non-amber turn signals?

Generally, as long as light can pass through the tinted tail lights, you'll be fine. Non-amber turn signals, however, are illegal, but I doubt you'll ever find a cop that would notice.

Tail light blackouts used to be illegal... not sure about now. I got popped for it a few years ago when I had auto vent shade tail light blackouts (light could still pass through them) and was made to take them off or get a ticket. May have just been a hassle thing then, but I have not used them since as I just do not care to be stopped over BS anymore. ;)

Where's the best place and the best process to get head lights and tail lights smoked?

I'm talking about a smoked look not blacked out, not really rice at all, especially on either of my cars, thanks for playing though.

A company called Lamin-X has tinted films that can be applied to them to get a smoked look. I know a lot of BMW guys that run them on their car. They have various colors, but they do have different shades of smoked as well. Pre-cut for the shape of your head/tail lights.

Honestly, none of my M3 friends have them and have seen very few with them on the street.
2 very different crowds, I guess. :dontknow:

I don't believe there is a law on tinted lights as long as the bulbs are the correct color. Non amber turn signals are illegal. I actually had a place that refused to do my state inspection because my turn signals were not amber.

Ahh, so I can have the clear housing but I need Amber bulbs? I'm cool with that.

I have clear corners with bluish turn signal bulbs, but they actually are amber when they turn on. I believe side markers need to be amber as well.

My side markers and tail lights are actually smoke and I haven't had any issues.
