I need a good hand car wash place in Plano to go to; any suggestions? I don't have time to wash my car anymore. It is so filthy right now... (have not washed it in over 3 weeks )

I've used Simoniz Car Wash (4048 Preston Road, Plano, TX) I was happy with the job they did. $40 for hand wash and vacuum/dust interior.

+1, I thought they did a good job for the price on mine.
Slightly off topic... Anyone know of any good pay and spray car washes off the tollroad in NW Plano?

I was using them for a $30 handwash for the last year until recently. They ruin my clear bra while trying to remove tar from my car.

I used to take my Rover to one by Frankford and Midway (it's on Midway) if it's still there...It might have been Laser...

Wish we had a place like Paulie Walnuts shop in Houston. Classic Hand Wash is the name of the business, and it's a $20 hand wash that takes about 5-10 minutes with 3-4 people doing it. Took the Viper there for TX2K9, and it was a pretty good wash. I'd pay $20 to have someone wash my Viper, since I can't go through the brush washes at CarSpa with the 19x13's in the rear. I might have to give one of these guys listed above a try, one day when the car gets really dirty and I'm too lazy to do it.

Is that in Clear Lake? If so, I took me care there a few years ago! Otherwise, Simoniz on preston is amazing!

There's one like that in Austin, like 10 blocks south of the Whole Foods downtown. Took my E there when I was doing a show in town. It might have only been $15, but $20 sounds about right.

any other suggestions around dallas?
perhaps a true touchless car wash that won't scratch up your wheels... like car washes with pressure plates or something so your wheels don't have to be on rails?

Otherwise, they will leave a film of dirt on your car. That being said, that's all I will use if I'm not doing it myself. If your car isn't too bad to begin with, afterward a microfiber cloth, a little quick detailer for the trouble spots, and finally drying the mirrors & door frames gives pretty good results.
Anyway...here are the two washes I've used most over the years. No rails. Fully touchless. decent air dryers.
NE Dallas - Crazy Jack's
1 block south of LBJ on Plano Rd. pay & spray plus 2 auto-wash bays.
McKinney - Splish Splash Auto Bath
2 blocks east of 75 on Eldorado. pay & spray plus an auto-wash bays

Allen - Shell? station
I'm not sure of the brand, but on the SE corner of 75 & McDermott

2 blocks east of 75 on Eldorado. pay & spray plus an auto-wash bays
thanks... crazy jacks would be the closest... the rest are a far drive from irving
i've been wondering what a spray down of ONR QD would do before running it through a touchless wash? would it help collect the dirt?

I take mine to Roman @ Willow Bend Mall south side of the parking lot. His number is 469.348.8596
It all hand & waterless wash. Should run you $30-$40. Great guy.:thumbsup2:

I just edited my post. Apparently the new station owner on the SE corner of 75 & McDermott decided to rip out the touchless wash and installed one with the huge brushes. Fail.

I'm Mike and I own Detail Perfection. What Imaj was referring to is that a waterless wash will induce scratches and swirls in your paint if the car is anything more than a little dusty.
As far as washing goes, the only way to properly wash your car is by hand using the two bucket method with grit guards. (One bucket is the washing, soapy water and the other is the rinse water) You wash a small section of the car with the wash water on your mitt/sponge/brush and then rinse it out in the rinse bucket before loading it up with clean wash water from the wash bucket for the next section. Repeat this same process for the entire car, washing from the top down. This method prevents the dirt you wash off the car from being in your wash mitt/sponge/brush when you wash another section. It stays in the rinse bucket and your wash water stays clean. (I am sure this is the process Imaj uses for anyone that has him wash their car.)
Of course having a spotless rinse system helps too as you avoid dragging a towel accross the paint when drying the car. :D
