Several of us have been through Jason Hart's coaching days and wish to do so again...right now we have 2 people but need just one more victim...err student. :)
Check Jason out at http://www.jasonharttraining.com (http://www.jasonhartracing.com)
From Jason:
"I can do Fri the 12th (ECR or MSR 1.7) or Sunday the 14th (MSR 1.7)...other than that Sat 27th or Sun 28th (one of these dates will be filled soon, waiting for confirmation on which day). Let me know what works for you and if you would like to do a group. I have portable Data and Video now as well for those who do not already have it. J "

What does this normally run? I would be interested along with two others depending on price...

Usually with a group of 3 it's about 600 per person...Jason tell me if it's changed. Anymore than three will change the amount of personal coaching time each driver receives.

Assuming everyone is a non-member and a group of 3 drivers the rate all up would be $550 per person at ECR or MSR (MSR you need to have a fire suit which you can rent if needed). Thanks for the kind words all...always a pleasure, J

Actually, I have a regular GT3 with track exhaust and a tune. It has a meager 470 HP NA, so I'm not a threat.

I'm thinking the 28th, as I'm gone the week of Thanksgiving to our house in Red River and could come back a day early. Otherwise, lets look into December.

If it doesn't work on the track then it's not worth it's weight in aluminum. I feel pretty sure we've got it fixed now but worst case scenario, we have to move the pump.

I understand.
It's tough to make a track car and a straight line car. The 2 don't work. But, a Ford GT is a damn good effort at trying.

Hell, if we run in December, or at least the end of November heat should not be a problem. Unless your trying to warmup the hands then the heat could be good.

Oh, hah ... whoops.
I hear that. For me when it comes to the nut behind the steering wheel the issues are size related. Typically it follows the trend of faster and faster lap times followed by a split second of overconfidence and 45 minutes of cleaning grass from the radiator. Needless to say, subsequent laps revert to mere german car standards.

Do any of you guys use Vbox equipment? I have some session data/video of a GT3 putting down some pretty quick laps that y'all could use for comparison.
And is there a way to upload to youtube that will only let a video be watched by being linked?

I'd be interested in seeing the vid/data. Also, what kind of GT3? [6, 7.1, 7.2, RS?] And for apples-apples, what was the setup? And of course, what kind of times?
Here are the times I recall off the top of my head:
stock 996 ~1:21
stock 997.1 ~1.20
modded 997.1 ~1.16
997 Cup ~ 1.13

[edit: to answer your youtube question, "yes" you can limit access. Process:
When you have a video uploaded, there is a box for "Broadcasting and Sharing."
- you can get there from your main Youtube account page, and clicking on My Videos.
- on your video home page, click "edit" on the relevant video
In the Broadcast and Settings box, click "unlisted"
- this makes the video unlisted (doesn't show up on searches)
- you will be given a link to the unlisted video
- post the link or IM / email it
Only folks with the actual link can access the video.
*note, don't chose "Private" as this requires you to email the link to your video and you have to affirmatively select the people that can view it.]

I don't know a lick about Porsche beyond some jokes regarding ownership. What I do know is that it is a 997 GT3 as it comes from the factory except perhaps the tires, I'm not sure what OE tires are for GT3s, but this particular car was running Bridgestone RE050's. As far as the .1 or .2 ... I assume that is year dependent, accordingly I have pretty sure it is 997.1. Unfortunately the fastest time I have for him on video/data is in the 1:21's ... the one good session it was in his car for while mine was getting the new Hoosiers on was cut short due to *cough* a Porsche getting stuck. The subsequent session proved to be the last of his poor little tires tortured existence.
Basically some friends and I want to try and get a decent sized personal database of several cars running for comparison and analysis of particular shortcomings in our driving ...

If you want to borrow a Drift Box, I've got one Brett. A lot of people use the generic term vBox (myself included) to address the small data recording devices that adhere to a cars windshield to log G forces and position/speed data. A true vBox is a bit more race savvy data box, made by the same company (Race logic) that can be used in conjunction with video equipment. Also, the software that access the data for any of these devices is free on their site.

Oh, I actually use a Video Vbox ... I was asking because the video and data taken from different units can be compared side by side as well as from different days/sessions. It could probably be compared with your data from the time with the Caddy when you took lessons from Jason as well ... just without the purdy first person view of any spins.

Yes, that's the CAN channel I was referring to. Vipers can only really do RPM, Throttle, and one or two less useful options. Some cars also have steering wheel position and brake application channels which can be useful.

Looks like I have Nov Sat 27 or Sun 28 (1.7) and Dec Sun 12 (3.1) at MSR. Other than that MSR will need to happen after X-mass. ECR has more availability as MSR is FriSatSun until next year other than private track rental. Dec 17-18-19 will likely be PSDS. We have lots of options during the week at ECR and most often no one else is at the track!
I shouldn't peacock, but Barber's menu this weekend:
Audi R8
2010 PDK Turbo
(2) 2010 GT3 RS's with track alignments and Hoosier's
FYI, all will be in Dallas for winter track events until the snow melts up North. Can you say GT3 RS assault this winter with all you guys!

I'm game for Dec 12th at MSR 3.1, and also game for anytime at ECR. Wouldn't mind instruction at another track. I like the open track idea. Big time. Getting good a driving doesn't matter which track.
