For all of those that have or have been thinking of getting one of these wonderful space savers, see attached.
A client called the other day, he had pulled into the garage in a hurry and not aligned himself of the lift properly. When he attempted to center the car, the right front wheel went off the rightside of the platform. This also put the driver side rear 1/4 panel dangerously close to the the rear upright!
After some consideration for the car, the area and room given to correct said " problem " I went to work with floor jacks, wheel blocks, and a careful foot ( toe actually ) on the pedal ( Oh, did I mention it has the F1 transmission? ) I was able to get things straight again without causing more damage ( to car or ego )
Lifting the front up to place the block was hard due to workspace, once it was up on the block, getting the right front wheel back on the platform was easy. Then backing the car up just enough to gain access to the rear lifting point, I was able to lift, then swing the entire rear of the car back to the right, backing the car off the lift again. Safe and Sound!
Enjoy the pictures and be careful!
Steve

That looks like something I would do (not the part where Steve saved the day).

I wouldn't call it garage lift woes.
More like careless owner woes.

+1... Just takes a few minutes at most to park it properly. Or if your in such a rush just park it in your driveway. :dontknow:

Front Bumper Repair $350.00
Ego $ xxx.xx
The owner was smart enough to let it be vs.trying to force it , if you know what I mean.

Judging from your last picture the amount of space between the car and the posts, I would never be in a hurry to get it on that thing!

It's the angle of that picture only. There's plenty of room, as long as you are square starting off..

Not too bad... I guarantee I would have tried something stupid and made the situation worse. :banghead:

Good work Steve. It was definitely time for a considered approach.
I have no idea how people have garages that clean.

I see something blue that resembles an RS of some sort in the background. Is that yours Steve? What is it? I thought you only drove the taxi and the excursion.
