Looks to be high...considering the red GT's usually bring the least amount of coin.
On the other hand, the center stripe delete tends to add rarity to these cars.

Thanks. Thats about what I thought. RUF has nice stuff but I don't think the car is $160k. Just me though. Problem is I want red or black.

The red one look like a very low VIN car. It may have been one of the first 50 delivered. There was a letter in the documentation that would confirm that. If it is one of the first 50 cars it has special value because those individuals were hand picked owners. Other than that, I would wants pictures to back up the claim about Shelby doing the stickers himself.
The price seems to be moving back up on these cars (finally) but this should be about $15 less IMHO. Unless it a 1 of 50 car, thats an X factor.
I think I am having problems with my reality receptors, are you shopping FGTs?

this guy moves more GTs than anybody I know. I've never seen anybody post anything negative about the deals he's made (but he is a sponsor on the FGT forum so it might get edited).
His name is Shelby Smith btw... :hmmmm2:I wonder if he is the Shelby that put the stickers on the red car?

^Oh come on. You know plenty well that the Ford GT is one of my favs. I want one, and I also want a Carrera GT. I have always loved the Ford. My family owns a dealership (cousin, not me) in Hillsboro, so I have always been a Ford man. And I've had a few vettes. Just specific cars. And yes, I've also drank gallons of Kool Aid.
Who gives a damn about the stickers? Is that really worth anything besides the stickers?

The only reason I mention it is because Shelby is so damned old now, I can't imagine he would personally apply stickers to anything. If this car is a 1 of 50 production and someone has taken the time to photo document things like Shelby applying stickers... it may have some collector value down the road. If you plan on driving the car, just go get a high milage offering (high mileage being 10-15k). You'll get it cheap and it will likely be in pristine condition. Drive it all day long and laugh your ass off when you leave the dealership with a bill for a $55 dollar oil change.
Mid to early '05s have some really pimp billet a-arms, that Ford issued as an emergency replacement for the a-arms originally designed for the car. Ford failed to adequately copy some porsche technology and the a-arms would crack under extreme driving. The replacements billet parts were probably $15k parts that you can't get anymore. It's a cool little tidbit that most shoppers don't know to look for, so you wont pay extra for it.

^Interesting.
I would change my own oil.

Chuck, I've seen the car and on the surface it's a nice example. The painting that comes with it is really cool and this one also has personal plates that say "FORD GT"
Let me know if you want me to take a closer look. I'm a bit closer to the location than you.

Huh.... The Terlingua decals. Was it a Bill Neale car? The 67 small block I had belonged to Bill previously, and he put the stickers on it as well. Since he desinged them, I just left the on.. The car I had was red too (standard OEM FOrd Candy Apple), and it looked really nice. The red one is good looking, as is the black one. I have never seen a full stripe dele car, or just the one with Ford GT, and no sill stripes. Either choice looks like a good one IMO.

That black no stripe car is awesome. Very unusual to find the Ford GT's in black already. Red seems to be the most popular. The factory stripe delete really looks clean to me.

Red was produced in the highest number and also seems to sell at about $10k below other colors in similar condition. The side stripe is actually just a decal it can be removed and reapplied anytime. Silver with the black stripe (only available in '05) is my personal favorite. The heritage edition continue to command maximum dollar ($15-20 about standard colors). I think yellow was produced in the smallest number, except for the 1 of 1 sonic blue.

If you haven't called Shelby yet, do so. Tell him what you want and what you want to pay. He only tries to make 4-5 on the cars so he moves a ton.

Now this is good information. Where can you find production number and color stuff? Is it readily available like Vette stuff?

Thanks. I had seen the pictures with Ford/Camillo, but was hoping for a sunlight photo so it would look like this color:

Either way, it's a nice color. Wish they would have built more than one.

The Sonic Blue car was for sale awhile back, but I think the catch was you had to buy two or three other FGT's as well. Cool car for sure.

It's a cool ownership experience. Knowing a little of Ford's history and it's "Big Company" mentality... they have done a good job creating a small company feel with this car. I suspect much like Porsche would if you bought a 918 or CGT. The FGT forum is composed of mostly of owners or people who worked at the facility when the GT was produced. Cool people, lots of good info.
