View Full Version : Just a teaser of my uncles GTR...

As some may remember my uncle got a GTR about 9-10 months ago. We wanted to do something unique to it so we had a custom widebody front and rear done to it (Thanks New Concepts in Plano!) along with a custom set of wheels (Thanks Peter!). After 6-7 months of work here is a teaser shot... We just picked it up today. Norm is working his magic now so hopefully it will be at cars and coffee for everyone to see.
I understand this is not to everyones liking, some will hate the color and the look but it's just a fun project after all... Enjoy!
P.S- It's Lambo green (Verde Ithaca) sp

I kind of like the color. Maybe because it reminds me of my '76 Pinto. :D

Very cool to see it finished. I saw it at New Concepts several times while it was a work in progress. Looked like a lot of work!

Yes sir. We sent it to Boostlogic in Austin. They did their 600whp package. I don't remember everything that was done but it's pretty quick.

Glad to see all the positive comments... We weren't sure how the color would turn out on this car but it looks stunning in person.

It looks bad ass Al! The widebody looks well integrated into the lines of the car. The color looks great and your uncle can be sure he won't see another one like it on the roads.:thumbsup2:

Color is great. Undecided on widebody. Side view for a shot of the wheels?

The paint and bodywork looks great from what I can see! Front wheel offset looks a little strong, but I can shrink the outer 1/2" to make it sit in a bit more if you guys want.
I actually didn't know these were for you....if I did, I would have told you to go with 22s.... :D

P.S- Forgot to mention the entire front end (Hood, Fenders and Bumper are all carbon fiber...)

Thanks Mike! One thing I was worried about is how the lines would flow. It honestly looks like it could be factory... You have to see it in person to appreciate the custom fabrication.

Sure... two more shots for you guys.

lol... Thanks Peter! Yes I agree we need to shrink the fronts a tad. Please let me know when I can bring it by for you to work your magic.

Looks like it was ordered as a 10" wheel with a 4" outer lip. I'll need to order 2 20x3.5s.
What size tire are you guys running in the front?

I like the color but I don't know if the GTR is sleek enough to pull it off IMO. Still really cool.

How is the CF hood fitment?
Mine never fit right and I ended up sending it back.
From your pic, it looks a little off.

Not sure how I feel about the widebody, may look better with correct offset on front wheels, that's killing the look of the car for me. I like the color and the install though...

i would do a wheel with as thick a hub as i could to reduce some of the deep dish look. the fronts look like they need a full inch correction with new front/rear barrels. good job otherwise

Yeah i'll have to see it in person as well. We were told to make the wheels with a 1.5" larger frontspacing over a std GTR, so that's what we did...looks like it should have been more like 1" wider than stock.

Very nice! What happened to that black Camaro in the 2nd shot? It's missing the wheels and seems to be on the rotors?

Fitment was ok... Still nothing like OEM but acceptable IMO.

Nothing... It's getting wheels refinished and it's up on jack stands.

I like the color. Front end looks like it blends well but the back fenders look kinda curvy for the otherwise edgy GTR. I'd have to reserve final judgment until I saw it in person.

Hmmm, there are not many fans on that website, but hey... It's the internet. It's easy to be negative, cause it makes you feel cool & better about yourself.

Interesting... Almost everyone at C&C liked it but other GTR owners don't like it? They all pile on top of each other on the hate train. That's odd. Oh well, they fail to realize it's just a toy and nothing more. It's not a show car, an exotic or anything of the sort. Just another DD for him to have fun in. Thanks for posting the link though.
It's going in to Jotech this week to be lowered and the front wheels will be redone soon as well.

yeah, I noticed that, too. Ppl have different taste than just being negative to make themselves feel cool and better about themsleves though. I'm sure the pictures will not justify the looks at all. I loved the paint job and the unique idea.

I wish I was at CnC to check it out in person. I'm sure it looks alot better in person. Once u lower it, it will just look better for sure. Once my car is done, we should go for cruising together in Mexico!

Sure thing, we can hit up Mexico anytime... And yes I think those pics do the car no justice. It must be seen in person to really be appreciated.
