I'm shopping for a new DD and there's definitely some bargains, especially for high end luxury cars. The BMW E38 750iL (a $100k car new) is selling for $15 - $20k, that's decent mileage and in great condition. Here's an example of one for sale, I'd like to find one with fewer miles but check out what you can get for $17k.. 5.4L V-12, rear power/heated seats ftw. :thumbsup2:

I ended up with an e39 M5 thinking like this. :)
I would do an e39 over an e38, but that's just personal taste. Might also think about a 4.6/8is X5.

I would love an E39 but this is going to be a simple DD for me - I don't like pushing a clutch anymore so the E38 looks pretty good. :)

Read this in your best Darth Vader voice: "Luke, embrace the dark side, you need torque. Down low, tire shredding torque Luke. Come to Mercedes, the S600 beckons Luke, embrace your dark side."

what is the torque vs a 750?

I think I would prefer a E55 if I was going MB. :)

E55 with a pulley = serious beast

Torque appears to be 310 for the 750 and 391 for the S600, both in '01.
That's helpful when pushing a 4,500 lb boat.

Scott, I have seen one for sale, parked out in front of the car wash place next to the Prince of Peace school on Midway (near Park).. It's a darker gray, same wheels as the one in this ad.. very very clean... dunno how much they are asking.. if it's there next time I drive by, I will stop in and ask for more info.

These cars are a steal for the performance vs price!

Starting to lean toward a E55 if I can get one for a decent price. They're a lot faster than a 750 and not much more money. I would also consider the E39 M5 but as I stated earlier I don't want a manual transmission.

E39 M5 only comes with 6 speed manual.
E38 750iL is very low price, because once the warranty is out on those V-12s the repair cost can be outrageous.
I don't know for sure, but would expect the same on S600.
They are both great cars however! :thumbsup2:

can't believe how cheap these cars are.
A buddy of mine picked up an '03 E39 M5 with 50K miles for $16K!! It was in pristine conditoin (Silver on Black). The car was traded into BMW of Dallas and the guy picked it up for $500 over the trade-in price.

Six 2007 E63 AMG cars went through Manhiem since the beginning of the month. Highest mileage was about 34K miles. 70k miles is a ton for a 2 year car that retailed new for $95K. That being said, however, $35K is a pretty good price. Probably has prior paint work, shoddy service history or something else that may be lowering the value.

How do we get in? I would love to go look at getting some killer deals.. do you have to be a licensed dealer?

Ya you have to be a dealer. I have a contact that goes to auctions and charges $750 over the price he pays. Not a bad deal for getting pretty much the lowest price out there.

Carlos give us some examples of what these cars sell for at auction, i.e. the 2007 E63's you mentioned. When dealers post these cars for sale what's the average markup over what they paid for it?

Would be happy to discuss 1-on-1 or 1-on-few, but won't post that on a public forum. PM sent with answer. Net is we generally save customers $3-10k.
