^Nah. Don't let me by. Since it's so much track, we can ride together for a bit. Would be fun.
Not sure why we would drag race either. We don't own cars for that.

I just clicked your link... This is what it shows for Monday:
Monday
Showers
Hi: 51°
POP: 70%
Cloudy with showers and thunderstorms likely. Highs in the lower 50s. North winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 70 percent.
I think the rain on Monday is overrated. Cloudy and cold is what I am hoping for.

Silentrun
05-01-2011, 10:38 PM
Absolutely, but will check weather at 4 or so. If it's still bad, I am missing the 8:00 drivers meeting and should be there around 10 or so for the lunch and maybe 4wd the track...I bet it floods in the low spots. If it's calm then I will be at the drivers meeting with the RS...
I should be there. Like Michael, I may not make the meeting and will be in my DD if it is raining. I still have to change my rear pads and tires. I do not think the R's will work well tomorrow.

Thank you to everyone that came out, even if some just came to watch!
Al set new lap records in the rain yesterday... No Fear!
He was kind enough to allow me to pace along behind him for a while too.. every straight.. Bye ---- !
Alot of fun, met a lot of new friends, and I am looking forward to the next event already.
Yes, the Rs4 was the weapon of choice for the weather conditons and height requirements ( My head stick out the top of the Lotus ) I took the track wheels / tires just in case, but ended up using the street tires all day.
End of day, Micheal S had a friend show up in a rental car ( Chrysler 300? ) that was lapping people... LoL

He passed the Ferrari twice in the same session in a bone-stock chrysler 300 rental car!!!!! Not kidding. He is an instructor for BMW and PCA in Georgia, drives NASA and SCCA has tons of experience...most on Road Atlanta.

I missed this... But lets be honest, that Ferrari wasn't driven any faster or better than the Mini was. lol. I actually think the Dodge Charger was going faster.
Just saying, he's the wrong benchmark... lol.

It's a point of interest that any vehicle can be "tracked" in the right hands. This 300 had like 175 street tires, a rental, and this speeks highly of Chrysler, I never saw one warning light come on and we drove that thing very hard...too hard. Another point, you can do things with a rental you could never do in your own car!!!

Sorry. I think what I was trying to say came out wrong. I'm not trying to take anything away from you buddy. I'm sure he's an awesome driver. I was just saying the Ferrari driver was out for a Sunday cruise. lol.
Anyways, that's awesome he took the rental out. And yes I know from experience rentals with insurance open a whole new world to driving like you stole it. :driver:
