Suprised no one has posted this yet, it looks nice! Basically this was a closed doors event but someone leaked photos out.

If it comes with a 6 speed in the US market, I'd highly consider it. The number of great sport sedans with manual transmissions is dwindling rapidly...

I think the rear valence/diffuser/exhaust area could be more aggressive. Perhaps if it was in black instead of body color.

When the E60 M5 was introduced with SMG only everyone bitched a storm and then when BMW caved and offered the 6 spd manual no one wanted it. This led to the mother of all lease specials and my 07 M5 purchase. Hopefully history repeats itself :)

Guess it's just me but the car above doesn't have any aggressive looks to it. Seems rather toned down a bit. I'll stick with current M5...better yet e92 M3.
I'll pass on this one.

Agreed with both of you. I think it looks more aggresive than the E60.

I still think they should have kept it NA and not gone the FI route...either way its going to be mean.

Let's see if the HPFPs can keep up with this. Somehow the word recall comes to mind...

I don't know why everyone is opposed to having forced induction M cars. From my experience, having forced induction stock means you get way more out of bolt ons than with a naturally aspirated motor. The current 335 gets ridiculous gains just from the Dinan exhaust and Dinan tuning. A new twin turbo M5 would be a monster with the basic Dinan mods and keep the warranty. Then again, I've never owned an M car nor driven one so I don't really have personal experience with how the NA cars drive. As far as lag is concerned, I have driven the 335 and a turbo X5 and they have little to no turbo lag...really impressive.

You think the dinan tune is quick- try the Cobb tune.

The new 5 is boring looking to me...I'm sure it will be fast, but it's so blah...I'm curious to see what they do about weight since they added 200-300 across the new 5 range...
I am not sure I really like the lines on this car... maybe it will grow on me :dontknow:

In my opinion looks like they stretched out and (technical word here) "smushed" the E39 chassis...
It took the aggressibe M5 body mods on the E60 before that design grew on me.. Let's hope Bangle and his disciples are all gone and doing interor design work somewhere.
Wait.. I hear another oxymoron rolling around in my head... "Bangle Styling Genius"..
Gonna add that one to my list...

I'm still on the fence with this one as far as looks go. It will be fast and tuned, will be a monster.

I like it very much. Not at all a fan of the current M5 looks-wise. If they have a manual option.... I might :)
One of the turnoffs for me with the current M5 (coming from the AMG 6.2L) is lack of low end grunt. You have to wind it out... not so much with the TT setup of the new one.

Yeah, I'm not sure I would mimic my entire line off of my biggest model (7 series) Like I said, I agree it will be a beast and I can't wait to see what the E63 biturbo does.!

They should just remake the E39 with modern goodies. That design still looks great IMO.
