I just bought a car cover from the dealership because my garage door drips all over my car if I open it while its wet from rain or sprinklers. If I polish wax my car then put on the cover is the cover going to remove some of the product from the paint or should it stay just as shiny?

I bought the outdoor car cover mainly because the issue is the water drops
http://accessories.bmwusa.com/ItemView.aspx?modelId=426&categoryId=19&productCategoryId=&menuId=0&subItemId=0&productId=128
but should I have gotten the indoor car cover because it is 100% acetate satin?

I can call up there tomorrow and change the order no problem, I just wanted some advice because I have never bought one before.

Thanks,
Walter

Another thing, I bought the cover because I haven't had much driving time with the car since it is not my daily driver and I've been so busy on the weekends - maybe once very couple of weeks right now.

I think your choice is the correct one to prevent water from getting on the car. Using a cover should not remove wax from the car.

Thanks Mike, I'm gonna have to get your advice sometime soon on my sister's car that needs some TLC before I put it for sale.

I thought I was the only one with the wet garage door problem! LOL! Whenever it rains, I just throw a big beach towel over the rear half of my roadster because that is where the water drips from the garage door when opening it. Then I remove the towel after the door is fully open. But I guess with your car, you might need a few beach towels.

LOL yes, I missed the meet yesterday because I was detailing my car since I forgot to not open the garage when it had rained!
