I am thinking about powder coating my wheels on my e60 m5. Does anybody know of a place that has an in house wheels machine to take the tire off the wheel. The reason I ask is because the 2 places I have called said I have to take the wheels off, go and have the tires removed off the wheels, then bring them the naked wheel. I would love if there was just a one-stop-shop so I could bring my car in and then pick it up when they are finished.

Classic BMW, ask Pat Arnold, they do use a 3rd party to do the powder coating but it is very good. Here are my wheels before and after the new powder coating. I wanted the color of my old E39 OEM wheels and that's what I received.

If you can't find a shop with a tire machine I'm betting someone has an extra set of oem wheels you could borrow for a few days.

Well you are Mr. Black!!!!!! That drives a Nissan GT-R (same chassis number as Skyline) :D :D :D :D :D :D

Because of the GT-R's heritage, the chassis code for the all-new version has been called CBA-R35,[9] or 'R35' for short, carrying on the naming trend from previous Skyline GT-R generations. The GT-R has also retained its Skyline predecessor's nickname Godzilla

What's that got to do with you going back to generic color BMW wheels :questionmark:

It's probably slower now - you know black is the fastest color ;)

You could have pulled a Q and only changed one side - so it wouldn't have been a total loss.

It has to do with real knowledge.......

Yes black is the fastest color, because it is the absence of all colors. :thumbsup2:
However, I actually lowered the unsprung weight by .7 lb The previous black powder coating was so thick it had added weight.

Whatever you do, don't go to wheeltechnologies.. They had 3 shots at mine, each time was worse than the time before.. I would call Wheel America, I have seen there work and it's top notch.. I believe 130 a wheel

$130 a wheel that seems pretty high. I've heard of people paying like $60 a wheel. Can anyone give any other prices?

Stan at wheel expert solutions in carrolton, i had him do my HRE 540R and it was $90 per wheel to make them like new in whatever finish i wanted.
