Compared to big brother 3, I'm not digging the 1 look myself. Now the Cayman R is sick (color and all)!

I do not understand the Cayman R. Get an S, a suspension, and a TPC turbo and the R will never see you again...

I agree however, there are tons of people who don't like to mod cars.

TPC turbo has major lag issues from what I understand...

there is also the over heating issues with FI'ing caymans.

i honestly dont understand why they always compare bmw to porsche. they are very different cars in different segments with vastly different layout and feel.

bmw needs comparison to benz and audi imo

I think that's how it's always been. BMW, Mercedes, and Audi make cars aimed more for families. Even though Porsche has taken steps that way with the Panamera and Cayenne, Porsche still makes sports cars.

I think BMW should come up with something to compete with the SLS and R8.

Got a buddy with a Cayman R. Pretty damn nice car. Can carve a track to death.

But, gut that Bimmer, tune it good, and put on a wing and light wheels and I bet it's a force on the track.

^Nope. My buddy has his car in Kansas. Got the first one in the US. Came from PP. His son is the GM. LOL. We begged Porsche for the first. They obliged. This one came in a while after. His is white as well.

I like the Cayman R, it's so raw compared to the S, I think they shaved over a hundred pounds off the S and it sounds amazing too. If you've driven them both, you'll probably prefer the R on a track and the S on the street.

"Minimize to maximize was the idea. The guiding principle was the power-to-weight ratio. For us, improving performance is not simply about boosting engine output, but radically dispensing with features that would otherwise mean only one thing: increased weight. This is the principle of Porsche Intelligent Performance."

The R is a much better value over the S. You get 3k (option price) seats, LSD, better + lighter wheels, overall lighter car, while nothing to shake a stick at,10 more bhp, and revised sport tuned suspension. All for only 4k more than an S. Price an S with the same performance options and it comes out costing more.

Cayman R is a great deal.
