View Full Version : Green pea here...
Hey all!
My name is George Benton LaFleur & I live in Frisco, TX.
I currently have a 2000 Honda Prelude (bad-economy daily driver), but plan on getting a pre-owned NSX in the near future...
I've been as active as I can be in the local Ferrari group & exotic car scene in the Dallas area for many years and previously owned an 1981 308 GTSi.
I currently work in the automotive performance parts industry, but I had been in finance & banking for 11+ years doing consumer, commercial, auto, & mortgage lending...so I'm always happy to field questions in this arena.
Not married, no kids, no real girlfriend at this time, live in a house in Frisco, a dog (Beagle) & a cat.
Oh yeah, I'm into diecast car collecting too (exotics mostly).
Cheers,
GBL1

From the looks of your profile pics, you fell in love with the best to ever come from the East too, huh? ;)

What kind do you mostly have?
Got any "extras" you're looking to move / trade?

I have mostly Ferrari models. Ranging from the 156 Sharknose to the 458, I have most models in 1:64.
I also have a decent collection of 911s, Vipers, Corvettes, and Shelby Mustangs, also in 1:64. I have alot of others along with those (Aston Martin, Lamborghini, etc.).
I do have a couple of 1:18s and 1:24s. In 1:18 I have a 308 GTS, Daytona coupe, 360 Spider, Mondial 8, Felipe Massa's F2008, and a GT-R. In 1:24, I have a Gallardo Superleggera, Murcielago LP640, 996.1 911 coupe, C5 Z06, a BRG Mini Cooper, and a couple of NASCARs. I could go on and on... :driver:
I may have some extras. I'll have to look.

Welcome... Reminds me of the time when Topgear did the 'survey' on who the best car manufacturer of all time was... At least one of the surveys said..................MatchBox!
Classic....
Then, it turned out to be Ford... For about a minute... Then they awarded it to....Lancia...

MATCKBOX?!? No way...I thought it would have been Hot Wheels!
In fact, I read HW has been credited as the company that has designed more cars than anyone else EVER! ...and now they even own Matchbox. :)
Now if only the auto manufacturers could incorporate some of those way cool designs into reality...instead of some of the cookie-cutter crud they serve up in some showrooms... :(
I guess that's why concept cars have always bothered me. It's like the auto makers are saying, "Here's the really cool stuff we COULD build, but then here's the watered-down 'ho-hum' that we expect ya'll to buy."

I believe I am recalling it correctly.. Maybe MB is more prevalent in the UK? I'll see if I can find a clip...
