125 bhp per litre is pure insanity. Most powerful NA production motor on the planet.

Everyone but me on Teamspeed.com seems to be getting one. Anyone know someone who is getting a PTS GT3RS 4.0? Only one in the U.S.?

I've heard rumors of this blue PTS, but it's not the blue I was expecting.

I guess something along the lines of that cup car we've seen photos of lately. Like I said, I've heard rumors, maybe they are only that. I'm kind of a fan of the Oslo, but I've never seen it in real life.

^Well, I'm getting Maritime Blue and it's close to my Cup color.

Yup, thats what I heard. I was expecting Mexico based on a comment I recall you making in some thread on one of the many P-Car friendly forums.

LOL. I'm calling BS on the "friendly" comment. I figured that too many people would order Mexico. Too many out there already. So I went brighter.

I am NOT negating the achievement and incredible car the GT3 4.0 is, but the S2000 did have 120hp/ltr back in 1999, so an extra 5hp/ltr in 12 years of development and 5 times the price isn't all that impressive.

It's not the hp/ltr that makes the GT3 impressive, it's the total performance package and performance envelope of the car. Not to mention, it's durability and hewn from granite feel it's invariably going to have in additional to it's ability to go out hot lapping until it runs out of gas without feeling fatigued.

That was one thing I've noticed with my ZR1. That session I was chasing Alex's GT3 RS, my car started to feel a little 'tired' towards the end of the session, plus the oil temp hit 291 and the coolant was 245 with a 95F ambient temperature. I guess that's not unexpected with 638 supercharged horsepower being flogged for 20 minutes in a 95F day, but I bet Alex wasn't experiencing the same problems in his GT3 RS.

Anyway, can't wait to see one of these bad boys at a future track day.

Actually, the SAE standards changed and the most recent AP2 S2000 is @ 238 bhp with 2.2 litres (108 bhp per lire). The old AP1 is 2.0 litres at 232 bhp re-calculated. So that's 116 bhp per litre. Albeit, still very impressive.

FI will heat soak much faster than NA. When I had my CS I did notice that it never tired in the heat. You could flog that thing all day in the heat and it never slouched. My sh** sucking VW GTI on the other hand is a freaking mule in the heat. Heat soak all day long.

For a NA production machine though, the Ducati Desmosedici RR comes in with 199.5 bhp per litre. Now that's insanity!

I would trade organs for that beast:

With the way F1 motors have been lasting 3 whole race weekends at 18,000rpm, I'm kind of surprised some of those manufacturers haven't been turning out more insane high end production motors. Though the 458 is at 124.88/litre...

Ferrari also claims at top speed it produces 570 bhp, so that's ~127 bhp per litre.
