The legendary Cars and Coffee™ (http://usa.carsandcoffee.info/) event with its roots in southern California is making its Texas debut on Saturday, May 30, from 8am-12noon! Sometimes called the world’s most diverse automobile museum with locations in the US and Europe, Cars and Coffee is the premier gathering of auto enthusiasts that come together to feed their addiction to cars, caffeine and high-octane gasoline.

Starting on Saturday, May 30, Cars and Coffee will be held in the DFW area on the last Saturday of every month from 8am-12noon at Classic BMW in Plano, Texas in the northwest corner of the parking lot. Please plan to join hundreds of proud drivers from the Dallas/Fort Worth area and beyond to congregate with like-minded aficionados and novices alike to share thoughts on a common passion. All types of cars are welcome to attend and there will be something for everyone to enjoy.

It’s all free minus the hot Starbucks coffee -- donations for the coffee will be accepted on behalf of the Greater Dallas Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association (http://www.alz.org/greaterdallas/).

Date: Saturday, May 30 (last Saturday of every month)
Time: 8am – 12noon
Location:
Classic BMW (northwest corner of the parking lot)
6800 Dallas Parkway
Plano, TX 75024

A little history: Cars and Coffee began simply as the congregating of auto enthusiasts in Crystal Cove, California, in 2005. The group began meeting so that members who were united through a common passion could share their cars with each other in an environment where they were comfortable enough to ask questions, learn, and experience the joys of such a variety of talents, minds, and especially, cars.

I am still a little disappointed that Classic would compete so directly with our meet. There is no need for them to support our site if they sponsor this one.

You usually don't show up untill 11AM anyway, - theirs starts at 8AM and is only once a month! So those who really want can do both. :thumbsup2:

Come on now, this town is big for both to have meets.
Their's is only once a month, different time and it is for a good cause. :thumbsup2:

It was 9am originally and nobody showed until 9:30 - 10:00 so we just changed it to 10. I think 10-12 works well (some of us meet for breakfast before).

Hell yes...who's silver CTS-V is that with black wheels? Although my car was nothing next to the Ford GT and Gumball Viper.

Great turnout...can't wait till next month.

It is a rare car and looked great! I also liked the SL 65 BS and the pretty much original GT40. Some of the older cars were really sweet as well.:thumbsup2:

Great turnout this morning! The only ironic thing was when we went to get coffee they were out! How does "Cars & Coffee" run out of coffee:questionmark::questionmark::questionmark:

Lord I hope you didn't think it was original because of the tool driving it...

That was an SPF REPLICA built in South Africa. While close to the originals in size its not a real one...closest real one in Dallas is sitting over at Sam Pak's meuseum in Carrollton. Thats a Mark V that was built in 1980 off the original jigs by Safir. They do carry a P number and are recognized as coming from the original tooling.

On the SPF The paint has already peeled on it and when I saw it last it was drying out inside because the seller of them left it open in a rain storm.

 Tell us how you really feel.

I thought I heard the owner tell somebody it was the "real deal". :hmmmm2: Sometimes I wish I didn't know as much as I do about classic domestics. I really wanted to bust the owners imaginary bubble.

I thought Mark's original AC Cobra was the nicest car there.

Yep and he drives it too...for those that didn't know that silver/blue cobra was a real 427...figure somewhere around 1-1.3M for that car...and the owner drives it to every car show..its his second cobra he had a white 289 before this.

And to answer you question about Creel..I won't even walk within 10 feet of the sleezeball..makes my skin crawl.

And, just fyi.....the black "Speedster" is also a replica. Looks to be a very well done replica though and pretty cool looking anyway. Instant tipoff is the fact it has windows....the orig.s have pop-in side curtains that are guaranteed to leak.

Yes, that's why I referred to it as the "almost original"

Obviously the guy driving it was talking some BS then as he was basically saying it was in essence a restored original serial numbered car. A bit different than the way you are describing it.

If you see him again and get talking to him ask him when it was made and see how many parts are from 1965. Why is it fiberglass? Why does it have a new Keith Craft motor when the originals had Holman Moodies in them? He's a tool...I avoid him because he's an idiot and just trying to sell cars.

For some reason I thought that cars and coffee changed venues.

If not sooner, see you at the end of the month!

The road course in Oak Hill, TX off FM1716. When I'm not playing with the car I can be found doing this: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3096/2691439116_b08e56a12a_m_d.jpg
