I really like the Z07 trim on this car. It even looks like they tried to make the interior look half as nice as the rest of it.

You will probably go through 2 sets of tires before it needs its first oil change.

Very cool... The interior does look awesome! (Comparatively speaking).

Glad they dressed up that interior. I hope they do something similar on the ZL1 Camaro. I loved my SS but the interior was so damn cheap.

Put alcantera on seats and center console = new interior?
Put new tires on = NEW MODEL YEAR LOOK!

Love it but no thanks on the brakes...those rotors are $$$$$$$ (the same ones that come on the zr1).

Sssoooo true :D
Price as tested, $105k?? Why not spend a little more for a ZR1?

Last hurrah before the c7? I can't imagine too many sales in the 6-7th year of product cycle.

+1. I don't see this version being sold very often esp. with the price so close to ZR1 territory. Heck, on corvette forums one vendor is selling ZR1s AT COST ($92-96K area)

Its gm trying to sell everyone they can. This car is actually a zr1 with a z06 engine, a combo some prefer but a little too late and priced wrong

There are a few other manufacturers guilty of the same thing, cough Mustang, cough Porsche, cough BMW, etc.

Can you not switch to steel?

I am switching to steel...it's "cheaper" but not a bargain.

The ceramics on the ZR1/Z07 package Z06 are VASTLY cheaper than the prices you were mentioning on your P-car. Like $6k or so for all 4 carbon ceramic rotors and full brake pad replacements. Not to mention, the rotors last 2-3 pad changes based on what GM/Corvette track day schools are seeing. I've done 4 hard track days with my ZR1 and I still have half my brake pads left and the rotors look great.

Some people are changing to steel for safety reasons. One of the rs guys on 6sp reported having no brakes at the end of a straight, a very frightening experience to say the least, and there have been other such reports as well where there was complete brake fade with ceramics. I specifically got a steel brake car because of this concern. I still don't know why ceramics do this on occasion but once is enough to steer me away. Maybe the zr1 system is different but its always a possibility with the pccb's

Brett, the ZR1 brakes but in steel form are the CTSV brakes. Surprised no one has made a 2 piece yet for them, but I imagine PFC will have some out before too long.

They are still outsourced to the same place, so the problem can still occur. It's also occurred with the Prancing Pony cars.

The outside view of the rotars are good, the issue is on the back side of the rotar. Replacing with steel AP brakes. 6K for all corners installed.

Did you consider the MovIt carbon silicon rotors for the 3RS? I read some testing on them where they were what a ceramic rotor should be. i.e. stopped like crazy and lasted forever under heavy track usage... Based on your experience and doing some reading, I would never buy PCCB brakes on a Porsche.
