I am thinking about getting a BBK for my Audi S5. I have a few questions that I was hoping someone with first hand experience can help me out with.
1. Brembo, Stoptech and Ap Racing seem like the more respected options for this car. I'm leaning towards the Stoptechs because I am not going to be changing the rears and they mention maintaining the OEM balance between front and rear. Is the Stoptech brake bias discussion a bunch of BS or are they for real? I am an engineer and most of the stuff they mention seems to make sense, but this would be outside my field of expertise, so I really don't know.
2. Should I expect that my BBK will have squealing problems. I have heard that BBK's tend to squeal. Are some better than others? Is there a rotor design that is better than others, i.e. drilled vs slotted?
Thanks in advance for your information.

I bought a Stoptech BBK for my M3 and reluctantly admit doing it mostly for appearance. My brakes squeal some but that can be cured by bedding the brakes. Brake bias is definitely an issue, although depends on what you're planning to do with your car. Unless you're tracking your car I wouldn't be overly concerned as you will probably never notice any difference. I went with with Stoptech because everyone else seemed to have Brembo's.

I recommend you call and talk to Dave Zeckhausen, he is a brake expert and nice to talk too. :thumbsup2:
He will answer any and all questions with no BS, will guide you in the right direction, depending where you are going with this.
He is not a sales person, when it come to your needs and concerns.
You will have to give up no noises and little dust for performance, that's the trade, but it doesn't have to be bad.

Another +1 for Dave Z! He is a great guy and will not try to sell you something you don't really need. He'll talk to you and listen to what you want, then recommend a solution that will work and offer you a good value for your $$. I buy all my brake supplies and parts from him.
