I've been living in Irving for about 10 months now, from Houston... My girlfriend is coming up this weekend for our 5 year anniversary. What are some good places to visit/goto? Looking to take her out somewhere nice and enjoy the food and view, but not break the bank...
This was her response when I asked her what she wants to do: Lets go eat somewhere nice but not too nice lol and get lots of desert but not too much desert Yes I've already read thru the other thread. Plan is to take her out Sat lunch or dinner. |

What's your budget, that will help with suggestions.
You have to remember, DFWAC has a range of incomes.... so breaking the bank can take on new meaning... < wink > S

Take her up to Nicola's in Frisco...Legacy Park has several places to walk around after dinner as well.
I used to live in the Canal Side Lofts in Las Colinas and really didn't like much unless I was going somewhere nice like Bob's.

lol $200-250 should be enough for a nice steakhouse or trendy place in Dallas w/ a reasonable bottle of wine, desert, etc.. The wife and I like Captial Grille when it comes to steakhouses. More trendy, we've enjoyed Stephan Pyles on a few occasions, most recently was NYE, which was pretty great.

Considering your budget, check out Kenny's Woodfired Grill in Addison. My wife and I really like the food there, big fan of the ahi tuna nachos, adult mac & cheese, etc.

I'd pass personally. Mostly young, annoying & disruptive high school kids.

Personally, in that price range I'd favor Mercy in Addison. Nice wine, music, and reasonably priced meal. Not too fancy; but nice enough for a good experience.

Legacy has the best "cupcakery" around in IMHO for the desert portion of your date!

I'm leaning towards the legacy park area since it seems to have a nice area to walk around in plus good places to eat.

The Harbor isnt much to look at.
I also would suggest a nice place in Addison for your budget. Addison circle park is a nice place to walk around and chit chat after eating.

If lunch/brunch is an option, maybe La Duni, or the Grape if Sunday's an option, and then a stroll through the arboretum to see the Chihuly exhibit, or just a walk around White Rock lake?
If memory serves me, I think they may actually serve brunch @ the arobretum. |
