Only person I know that has expressed interest in getting one is Jason Stevens (Mullet) in Houston.

I wish I had the funds to pick one up right now but it's not in the cards. My plan is to try to order a 2019-2020 model. It all rumor at this point but Ford is supposedly planning a "significant" design change to the car in it's 3rd year of production. Who knows what that means? Still, the odds for getting invited to buy one are slim at this point.

Did you notice any language in the application about agreeing not to sell it for a length of time? I heard that was going to be part of the contract to buy.

I can't imagine being offered one. If I were I'd probably do it.

I'm sure their limit number will mean good odds on appreciation. I wouldn't bet the farm until they sort out the racing trials tho. It's got to win to be a success for Ford and it would be a miracle if they pulled it off this season.

Yeah, I believe this car will go up significantly unless they produce 1,000 a year for 6 years. Even then, it will just go up slightly

I think the reason the 05-06 model did/does so well is the throw-back design and it's surprisingly robust platform. They just didn't turn out to be joke supercars like so many collectors expected.

2017 GT is a very modern design that will go thru a phase where it looks dated (badly). All that is fine if it does what Ford wants and wins at la Mans. Maybe your right tho, 500 cars a year does usually mean collector value. It also means no one will drive it.

250 cars a year. If ford wins this year it will be unobtanium squared.

Agreed... I want to keep the dream alive about la Mans but I've got about even odds on me becoming the Prime Minister of Pakistan.

"A ’66 GT40 and 5 Other Rare Ford Icons are Up for Sale"

"It’s a must-see for automotive window shoppers, as is RM Sotheby’s accompanying auction for those actually interested in buying. This year, the auction house will sell-off six rarified Ford and Shelby vehicles from enthusiast and dealership owner Jim Click’s esteemed collection. The highlight? This jaw-dropping 1966 Ford GT40 Mark I, which could sell for upwards of $4.25 million.

Looks like I'll be taking donation on my bid for Pakistan Parliament! (figured I'd need to work my way up to PM).
