Sounds like Musk is stepping up and now covering car fires as part of the warranty.

While defending the vehicle, Musk announced that Tesla has already wirelessly sent orders to the computers of all Model S electric cars on the road to adjust the suspension so they ride higher on the highway and are less likely to take a hit from debris. He also says Tesla is extending its warranty to include fire damage.

Tesla adding more superchargers (charging stations) in Europe.

"Tesla’s first six Superchargers were energized in California in September 2012, with the first network of European Supercharger stations opening in Norway less than a year later. As of today, 81 Supercharger locations are energized worldwide, with 14 locations in Europe. More than 11 million kilometers have been charged by Tesla Superchargers and nearly 1.13 million liters of gas have been offset.”

Tesla Motors turns all its patents over to the open source movement.

"Electric carmaker Tesla announced Thursday it was giving up its patents to “the open source movement” to help spur electric vehicle technology.

The unusual move comes with Tesla enjoying huge success, but against a backdrop of multiplying legal squabbles among technology firms over patents.

“All our patents belong to you,” Tesla chief executive Elon Musk said in a blog post.

“Yesterday, there was a wall of Tesla patents in the lobby of our Palo Alto headquarters. That is no longer the case. They have been removed, in the spirit of the open source movement, for the advancement of electric vehicle technology.”

Musk, an entrepreneur who made a fortune with the PayPal online payment service and also heads the space travel firm Space X, said he does not want patents to halt growth of an important environmental technology.

“We believe that Tesla, other companies making electric cars, and the world would all benefit from a common, rapidly-evolving technology platform,” he wrote."

2 yrs later...CR seems to have flip-flopped based on model S bugs.

But, with the new P100D 0-60 time of 2.5sec, reliability may be less of a concern. It's an unbelievable milestone for any production car, even more-so for a sedan.
