Cool $1,800 vs $13,000

Here is a $1800, ready to drive go-kart. It makes 6.5hp with a Chinese engineered "chonda" engine. Not a single part on this kart is a name brand.

Here is a $13,000, ready to drive go-kart. It makes 40hp with a stock moto CR125 Honda Engine. It is on a french made SODI chassis, ST32-BB.

Here are the rear brakes on the $1800 Kart.

Here are the rear brakes on the $13,000 Kart.

The SODI also has front brakes, while the $1800 Kart has none.

The SODI also has a performance exhaust, while the $1800 Kart has none.

The comparison of Motors.

You get what you pay for.

This is so awesome. Years ago I used to race carts in the Philippines. I really want to get back into this. I'll be seeing you in the near future!

Thats great!

We totally understand why so many in DFW are not into karting yet/anymore. Up until we opened, there has been no place in the area that sells, stores, builds, maintains, and races karts all in one place. DKC aims to change that, and get more people into karting and the fundamentals of racing. We envision a future where kids beg to be into kart racing instead of karate.

Very cool, I love karting. I started out in cadet karts, then moved up to TAG Jr, TAG senior, and finally up to shifters. What a great way to learn the sport.

Now that you guys have a decent track, you should set up a Kart school. Have nightly classes where people can get into a real shifter kart and learn the basics of racing them.

I raced for Ital Kart when I lived in Vancouver in 2000-2003.. ICC, ICA, leopard.. Came here and there was no scene.. at least not like Canada.. Would love to get back into it, just not the biggest fan of the moto karts bland power delivery... They sure don't come on like a rotary valve pavesi! Been wanting to come by and check you guys out.

Are there any 4-stroke motors making their way onto these karts? Too much torque?

The 4strokes are just bland in power delivery... The Kart specific 2 stroke motors have gobs of tq and are punchy as hell from 9,000rpm to 20,000rpm.. They just absolutely scream. I have been out of the scene for 10 years, so I'm not up to date on the current 4 stroke info.. When I raced the 4srokes were for the kidos.

That is exactly what we are planning!

Of course, we have seen everything from 4 strokes to full size suzuki engines on karts. They are frankensteins which serve no real purpose other than to incite discussion on the youtube video comments. All the engines we sell here are apart of a national class structure so that you could compete in local, regional or national competition if you should so choose. Our 2 stroke DD2 shifter packs nearly 40hp and will scare the crap of out you. Trust me.
